The drive to the winery is an added bonus. The wine is good and you get three tastes for free. We bought two bottles. They also have a lot of wine related merchandise.

“DELIGHTFUL find!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 March 2014

Being the "winery trekker" I am throughout the US? I was surprised to find A winery out in Moab, Utah of all places! Beautiful...Along the river and down a canyon with an adjacent lodge and restaurant with stellar old Hollywood movie pic locations throughout this area. The winery itself has about five different wines it produces and while I didn't care for most? Their OUTLAW RED is OUTSTANDING for a good, solid table wine. I even had some shipped home to me...Very reasonably priced wines. Lovely gift shop and super wine bar (MORE wineries ought to have such a long wine bar!)

“Well worth the stop on one of the most scenic drives in the US”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2014

We visit Moab at least once a year and ALWAYS make a point to stop in the winery to pick up a "few" bottles. Now we have standing orders from family and friends and we come back with cases! One item of note is that Utah state law prohibits wine tasting before noon.
If you are heading east then continue going on UT-128 until you reach I-70 about 30 miles after the winery. The excursion and drive are well worth the extra 20 minutes or so of driving.
Also, make a point to see the movie museum (free) in the basement of the adjacent Red Cliffs Lodge.

“Wonderful surprise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2014

OK, so we are Californians and do a lot of wine tasting at home and overseas. Frankly, we did not have great hopes for Utah wine, but we figured what the heck, it will be a good story back home. First of all, the tasting room is lovely and the hostess was both professional and warm. She told us about the local water situation, how the grapes are sourced, and some more about agriculture in the area (topics that interest us). Second, the wine was good enough to bring some home. We poured it blind for friends who prefer robust (read oaky) California chardonnays, and they were impressed. The wine is beautifully balanced, meaning the oak does not overrun the fruit. Well worth a stop.

“Nice and Welcoming”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2013 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

Castle Creek Winery is adjacent to the Red Cliffs Lodge. I found both to be very accommodating and friendly. The hostess at the winery was very informative and knowledgeable about all the store products, the surrounding area, and great places to eat in Moab. Although its a bit out of the way, I made a point to visit Castle Creek again on my way to NM from Utah. Worth the stop.
