Portal RV was in great location for all the activities we did...rafting, canyoneering, zip lining, and seeing/hiking Arches and Canyonlands. The staff were super helpful prior to the trip and during. We loved the pond after a day of hiking and the place was clean and quiet. The dogs also enjoyed their own pond to cool off in! Showers were clean. Stayed 10 nights....We plan to "RV" here again...maybe even upgrade to the Resort side to enjoy the pool..

Room Tip: The sites in the first row look out to the mountain ridges...although I wouldn't say there was a...

Very nice and quiet RV Park. It sits off the highway so you get minimal traffic noise. Landscaped nicely and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The RV park was not full - a hidden gem in Moab.

We have been staying at Portal for the last 5 years. The people are friendly and helpful. They know a lot about the area and the trails for Jeeps and biking. The park is always clean and kept up at all times. Any problem we ever have had as far as staying longer or coming early, the owners would bend over backwards to help us out. The best place to stay in Moab.

This was our first experience at an RV park. Our family was impressed with the cleanliness and how well staffed it was. There was concrete slabs at each lot with picnic table and a charcoal grill. There were little dog "parks" equipped with disposal bags and garbage bins. Our two boys enjoyed swimming in the pond while I relaxed on the sandy beach. Thanks for providing such a clean environment!

Horable! Staff/Owner Operators we awful to deal with. Facilities were clean and appealing, but not complete! We have stayed at 3 other RV parks in Moab in the past and they all out rate Portal! Choose a different RV Park if possible.

Room Tip: We have stayed at Spanish Trails, Canyonlands, Arches and even Sliprock are better choices.

This gentleman booked with us over the 2013 Jeep Safari week, which is one of the largest events that take place in Moab, Utah. The gentleman was scheduled to check out on March 26th. The Portal RV Resort and Campground was sold out with no sites available. The gentleman left for the day and did not check out at the scheduled check-out time of 12:00 noon on March 26th. We called that day with no response. The next day with still no response (March 27th) we approached The gentleman first thing that morning to let him be aware he needed to check out by 12:00 noon as we had someone coming into that site that was to check in on the 26th (the day before). It's too bad This gentlemans attitude was so poorly displayed from something that he created. And we apologize to our guest that could not get into there reserved site.

All in all a nice enough place. Site is clean and quiet after 10pm. Reception not very helpful as their pay phone was broken and they did not offer to make a local call from the office for us (which we would happily have paid for) they sent us into town to find another pay phone. The "pool" for non-members is a pond with fish in it. It looked safe enough but I didn't fancy swimming in it. It's about two miles out of town and no busses or taxis obvious so bear that in mind when booking. Bikes would be nice to hire from reception for popping into town but they do not have this facility so bring your own or be prepared to drive into town.
