“Don't stay at this place ... it's not a Best Western”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 November 2012

The hotel has the old motel 6 style which means the room face the parking lot . It's seems old and run down. Sheets & towels got loose hanging thread and used/old. Small noisy room, a run down place to me. Cost me over $90 and I think this place worth $30 at most but even then I don't stay here for even that much. I've stayed at Motel 6 Moab before and it's much better for around $60 /night.

Thank you for your comments. We apologize that you feel you over paid for your room, but you neglected to mention our rooms also offer 42" flat screen HD televisions, Keurig coffee products, spa shower heads, granite counter tops, original artwork, and of course our excellent downtown location within the Moab walking district.

We stayed here the nights of the 25th & 26th so we hit them right before their remodel, needless to say things were a little screwy. Over all this was a great motel to stay in. I was a pleasantly surprised that for being an older motel, the king bed room was really, really nice. The upgrades ito a flat screen tv, kurieg coffee maker, semi-comfy bed and a fantastic shower head were very welcomed. The only thing missing/needed in the room is a chair with ottoman. The hot tub/pool area need a little more privacy, it is open to a bar and szechwan resturant.
Looking forward to staying there in the future.

We spent three nights at this hotel to base out of to explore Arches National Park and Canyonlands. This hotel gave us a very comfortable and pleasant stay. I loved the fact that our room had its own Keurig coffeemaker. It was so nice to start the day with a great cup of coffee. Our room was very spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

A great base to explore national parks and surroundings. Central locations means you can explore town on foot.
Older style hotel but very comfortable and in good condition. Darker rooms are good for a late wake-up - did that twice!! The room was furthest from the busy main street and quiet although active Moab visitors get up real early! No elevator but you park right by your room - so get a ground floor room if stairs are a problem. No breakfast but plenty of restaurants nearby and a microwave in the lobby.WiFi worked well. No room safe so valuables need to be locked in your car trunk when out or lockable luggage works.
Check in early to avoid waiting although the line moved quickly.
Cheap laundry was really helpful and a useful work-out room. The pool looked very inviting but it was getting too cold at night.
LOVED the keurig coffee and great TV.
Enjoyed Zaks, Moab brewery and Eklecticafe.
The pursuit of tips is strong amongst the locals if not a little uncomfortable - that's ok if there's great service.Tip calculations are boldly displayed (in many places) on your tab AFTER tax - What! I must tip the government! Don't think so.

Room Tip: Quieter further from main street. Book early and check in early - its a busy town

As with other reviewers I'm perplexed as to how the 'Plus' came to be in the name; this was by far the worst of three Best Western hotels we stayed in on our trip and also the most expensive. The room, although a decent size, was very dark and outdated. We were unlucky to get a room on the ground floor next to the stairwell and ice machine, so there was a lot of noise throughout both nights we stayed. Cleanliness of the room in general was ok but almost all the towels we had were stained with a variety of things - it may be that they were just old and tired instead of unwashed, but still not good.

On arrival we found that the fridge didn't work. The helpful man from reception came to check and asked maintenance to come check it out. A little while later there was a knock on the door and we were greeted by a surly chap who didn't even say hello before wandering into the room. After playing around with it for a bit he claimed that the fridge was working. When we protested he had a conversation with somebody else in Spanish, then handed the phone to my girlfriend. The man on the other end told her the fridge was fine, that it takes a while to get going, and what did we expect - it was only a fridge! Well thanks for that, but we've used fridges before and a common feature seems to be making articles cold in a reasonable amount of time. Our bottles of water were approaching cold after 24 hours, but if this is a working fridge then I don't know what to think.

So, a pretty average hotel. Service over the fridge was very poor but not the end of the world - after all, we were only there for two days. Location is very good, along the main strip in Moab. What drags the place down past three points is the price. For two nights we paid $337 including taxes, an obscene amount for this hotel and truly appalling value for money. You can get a much better deal elsewhere in Moab - avoid this place if you can.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms by the stairwells and ice machine!

I've stayed in ~10 different Best Westerns in the East Coast, Utah, Arizona and Quebec. While the Greenwell in Moab UT is not modern on the exterior like some others I have stayed at (and no elevator to the second floor), it is a terrific value for the price. The rooms are spacious and, of course, ultra clean; the double queen beds are comfortable; the new ~46-inch flat screen t.v. was much appreciated; and there is ample storage space and a large bathroom area. Also, it has the best selection of channels of all the BWs I have stayed in. There is not a continental or hot breakfast, but we were given a $5 voucher to use at the Pancake Haus across the street, which served delicious pancakes and french toast. I would definitely stay there again when I return to hike the Arches or mountain bike.
