I stayed at the Kokopelli Lodge for 6 nights while I was in Moab. The room was nice... loved the colorful decorations. The hotel was somewhat small but perfect for 1 person, even with a lot of stuff. The extra shelving in the room was great. It was very clean, comfortable, had a mini-fridge and microwave, and is in a great location - walkable to downtown. Oh, and the towels were amazing - very soft, not the typical crusty white hotel towels you get most places (including at higher end hotels). The staff was friendly. If you want luxury, this place is probably not for you. But, if you want a clean, comfortable, and very reasonably priced room, I highly recommend this hotel.

Kokopelli Suites - Unit #2

We arrived in Salt Lake City for a 6 day trip of hiking in Utah's southern parks. We chose Kokopelli Suites for the leg of our trip that involved Arches NP, Dead Horse Canyon and Canyonlands NP.

Moab is the place to stay while visiting these parks. There are a lot of lodgers in the town. We loved that our Kokopelli Suite was on a quiet street, away from the traffic yet close to the main street.
The suite worked more like a condo-- the kitchen was stocked with everything you'd need to prepare and serve simple meals. There was no dining table, but the kitchen had a two-seat breakfast bar and we also used the coffee table in the small living area.
The bedroom's two queen-sized beds were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was off of the bedroom and though small was efficient. Our family of four did fine sharing it.

Sliding glass doors from the bedroom led to a small patio and a walkway to a nice hot tub. Outside lighting in the back was minimal-- bring a flashlight if you want to use the hot tub after dark. The hot tub is just that--very hot! The controls for the temperature seemed locked, but after a long day of hiking we appreciated the heat. I would not recommend the hot tub for young children because of the high temperature.

The decor of the suite was such a treat-- fun and chic in southwest colors. Really adorable!

The staff was friendly. We had called ahead to let them know we would be a late check-in and they assured us there was no problem. Check-in was fast.

Parking at the suite was right in front of our door. We heard no road noise. The wi-fi worked great. The size of the rooms allowed little extra space around the furniture, but was adequate. The furnishings were very comfortable. Neighbors could be heard through walls.

Privacy: 4
Wi-Fi: 5
TV: flat screen, small
Pillows/bed: comfy cosy!
Security: handle lock with deadbolt, no room safe, smoke alarm, low lighting in back, no unit number on back of unit (we almost entered the neighbor's door when returning from the hot tub!)
Breakfast: NA
Amenities: flat screen tv, microwave, refrigerator, stove with oven, toaster, coffee maker, basic kitchen supplies, hot tub (shared with other units), grill (shared with other units), DVD movies at main desk

Recommendation: terrific place to stay in Moab for 2-4 people.

Manager suggestions: provide two dish towels instead of one.

Stayed in Room #2 at the Lodge - it was small, but very cute and clean, and no discernible smells. Excellent value for the price during my stay.

Perfect for a solo traveler, but would be fine for a couple, too. Floor space is minimal, but lots of surfaces for belongings, and plenty of convenient plugs. Would be tight with a medium to large dog. I was a little worried because they boast their dog-friendliness, but I detected no evidence of dogs in the room.

Great location - many restaurants within walking distance.

There was construction going on behind the lodge while I was there - it made napping during the day hard (I was up early for sunrise every morning, and came back to rest mid-day), but obviously was no issue at night. Walls were a little thin - I could occasionally hear talking next door, but the other guest were generally quiet. Otherwise, it's in a very quiet location.

There is a TV, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker in the room, but I didn't use any of them during my stay.

My wife and I make the short 4hr drive from Colorado to Moab several times a year for mountain biking. Usually we decide to camp or stay in one of the many hotel/motels in Moab. We also have 2 dogs so logistically it's a bit harder to find a place that is dog friendly and fairly reasonably priced in Moab. Not only is Kokopelli Lodge dog friendly, but they do not charge a pet fee like most other hotels. The owner is super nice and has dogs herself.

After arriving for our stay we also found out they are very bike friendly as well. They offer secure bike storage and even let you wash your bikes off with their hose in the backyard after riding.

While it's not 4 or 5 star luxury, it's a very cool retro, clean, great price, dog friendly, great location and biker friendly. We'll certainly be back and making this our go to place to stay when in Moab.

Loved our stay here! This motel is an updated, retro motel with just 8 rooms. It was quiet, cozy, and cool. The rooms are small but functional, with comfortable beds, a desk, plenty if room for belongings and plugs throughout. The bathroom is tiny but well-appointed for the space (great sink and storage but the shower is small!). I do recommend bringing your own toiletries. The TV is tiny, too, but we weren't in town to watch TV.

Pets stay free and there is a great outdoor yard with grass, tables, and benches that is completely enclosed and well-shaded, it was a great spot for our pooch to play.

The motel is very near to shops and restaurants, too. We walked to dinner and for coffees and breakfast in the morning. It's also close to a creekside trail (right at the end of the street) that I walked the dog on in the morning (we even saw deer!).

The staff was wonderful as well, very friendly and helpful.

There's a hot tub, too, though we didn't get a chance to use it.

Loved this motel and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend for anyone traveling with a dog, especially!
