This is a very charming looking hotel in a quaint town. We stayed 3 nights in the Rose Room. The room had a dank-antique-store odor. This 118 year old hotel is richly decorated with antique furnishings, so we discounted the odor. Each morning we awoke with progressively more and more nasal congestion, and by the third morning, my asthma became symptomatic. My bathing suit remained wet for 2 days while hanging in the bathroom to dry, and the camera lens fogged over while taking photos inside the room. We asked the very pleasant front desk attendant for a dehumidifier, which they did not provide nor did they offer to investigate the problem or service the air conditioning unit. The windows were sealed shut and could not be opened. We did not detect the odor elsewhere in the hotel. They leave the doors to vacant rooms open until they are occupied (for ventilation?).
