Definitely not one to be judged by its cover. I ordered the Crab Cake sandwich and there was actually more crab then filling it was wonderful. My husband ordered the Gator Rib special, it game with a spicy ranch dipping sauce that was quite good on the Crab Cakes. A definite go to place when we're in Florida.

Been to Joanies several times now over the last 8 years. Never disappoints. It is a bit of old Florida the way things used to be. Pull up a chair, grab a a beer out of the large ice-coolers on the floor, order some food if your're hungry. Listen to the live music or sit out back on the porch overlooking the wilderness and enjoy the relaxation and isolation that the Everglades offers. Save your bottle tops, you pay on the way out per the number of bottle tops in your pocket.

Joanie's is a great place to lose yourself for an hour or two and forget about the rest of the world. You are among friends here, even if you don't know them! This is a bit of the old Florida that used to be found throughout the state in the 50's and 60's, now mostly gone. It is a gem on the Tamiami Trail near Everglades City!

We had a very good time at Joanie's! I got the Catfish sandwhich with fries and also tried some gator nuggets! All were very good! The server was nice as well. They had a guy playing music which was kind of nice!

Having read the reviews after visiting Joanie's I feel as though I missed out on some good food; as it was I went for the gator sale and I could have been chewing anything covered in bread crumbs and deep fried as it had zero taste and the salad was as disappointing offering you could ever imagine. OK I hear you, you should have chosen something else but given its location I thought gator was appropriate.
The music was a man with a guitar who would have had difficulty creating an atmosphere if the place had been full (which it most certainly wasn't!).
