“Must See to Believe”
Reviewed 6 February 2014

Located out in the middle of nowhere on US 41, this is the smallest post office in the United States, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does more business per square foot than a large metropolitan post office. Tour buses were stopping there! The building is only about 6X8', but the parking lot will hold several buses and cars. The fun thing is buying a post card (picture of the Ochopee Post office), which is already stamped, and sending it to yourself. It's the best $1.00 souvenir I ever bought.

Adorable little post office. Great roadside attraction. Kids loved it. About the size of an outhouse as my 10 yr old put it!

“Well, you have to stop, dont you?”
Reviewed 31 January 2014

Post office the size of a toll booth; claims to be the world's smallest, and I believe them. Wasnt open when we stopped but we took a selfie and posted it on FB; I was surprised how many 'likes' I got.

“Smallest post office in USA”

If you have your post cards ready to mail don't just drop them in the box! Go to the window and the postmaster will cancel your stamp with a special cancel saying where it was mailed from. No stamps...no worries...they sell cards and stamps too!

“Don't miss it. A great side trip, close to Indian Villages, Airboats & Swamp Buggies”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

We visited on 1/2/2014, during our New Year's stay on Marco Island. The 31 miles from the Marriott took 40 minutes following San Marco Rd., (Rt. 92) North to Tamiami Trail, (US 41) and then a Right, (Eastward.)
The Post Office is on the right, (South) side of the road.
The famous post cards are already stamped and cost $1, so don't forget your address book.

There is no postmaster, but we met Shannon, who was the Officer-In-Charge. She turned out to be the highpoint of our side trip, because she was so friendly and gave us a little history of this site.
Thank you so much, Shannon!
