Within walking distance of Starbucks at City Market, Walmart, Tractor Supply, and a few good restaurants as well. Plenty of well lit parking, even for vehicles with trailers, and located on the north end of town, so the drive to CB is that much shorter. The Comfort Inn benefits from a fresh new remodel that is modern and stylish, and the rooms and pool are the cleanest in town. Both the staff, and the management are friendly and professional, and the free hot breakfast is a plus. I have stayed here several times, and will continue to stay here in the future because it is clean, quiet, and convenient!

I stay here couple of times a year and have never had a bad experience. Rooms are clean, quiet and easy to get to. They have redone the breakfast area and overall it is pretty good. Can have pretty much anything hot or cold.

Nice staff, good clean rooms, comfortable beds, flat screen TV, and a really good breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, waffles, and all the muffins, sweet rolls, yogurt, etc., you will ever need for a complete breakfast.

We arrived about 8:50pm, after a white knuckle drive through the Cerro pass at night time, we were ready to pull over for the night and get something to eat, as well as rest. Upon arrival, the staff was very friendly and chatty. We asked about places to eat and she was extremely helpful with getting us some food before everything shut down in town. Be warned, if you visit, most places there close around 9pm. She gave me a menu for a local pizza place called Marios, who said they had time to make one more delivery to me before closing down. So I quickly entered my order and headed off to my room.

Note, we arrived during downtime (off season) which meant we didn't have to do a reservation for a room in advance. However, we were told that around May, you will have a harder time getting a room there because of the tourist season. Typically, they stay booked four months in advance.

We got to the hot tub, right away, and it was clean and very comfortable (not too hot). The pool was a perfect temperature as well, and made for a refreshing dip at the end of a long day.

We were able to request a late check out (free of charge) at 1pm, and they were happy to oblige. The rooms were spacious, though no microwave is available unless you use the one in the lobby, but they did have a fridge. We were down the hall from the lobby, which was OK until morning when lots of folks were awake, checking out, eating breakfast, etc... and speaking loudly - which woke us up.

They had a very good breakfast (included sausage, bacon, gravy, biscuits, eggs, oatmeal, tea, coffee, juice, danish, muffins, yogurt, milk, waffle (and a pancake maker too!), cereal, bagels, toast, & fruit). We left feeling full and satisfied.

Only other negative was the view we had was that of the back of someone's home and someone's trailer. The same view could be seen from the breakfast area. You'd think, if building a hotel practically in someone's backyard, you'd take the time to build a scenic fence and add some landscaping to try to make the view somewhat attractive. It lowered the quality feeling of the hotel anytime you looked out the window. It was just trashy looking, as (beyond the control of the hotel) their yards were junked out and unkempt.

Room Tip: Pick a top floor. We asked for a quiet room, but still where we got placed (bottom floor close to lobby) was too noisy in the morning. A top floor, in a corner of the building, would be better.

Nice hotel, completely renovated in the heart of Gunnison. The city is pretty small but this hotel is in walkable distance to the main downtown area and couple of nice restaurants. Nice lobby and pool area. The rooms are clean and cozy.
