I've just been here once...however, based on that...I can't wait to return. I just had coffee and one of their breakfast bagels...simple but delicious. The sandwich menu looks terrific! Service was very friendly. A very simple yet very great place.

Great food, great atmosphere. A Gunnison must-do. Just bring cash, they don't take credit or debit cards.

This restaurant has the best sandwiches, soups and salads in town. I highly recommend the reuben and surefire sandwiches. Their reuben has classic ingredients but they are so very fresh. The overstuffed sandwich can be made on any of their wonderful bread choices but the rye is best. The Surefire has turkey, avocado, a wonderful spicy mayo, fresh veggies and is very good on their sourdough bread. The kids love the plain grilled cheese but there are lots of other choices for them as well.
There are two things you must know BEFORE going to Firebrand :
1. They do not take credit cards so bring cash.
2. It takes a while to construct these perfect sandwiches, each made-to-order with care. Plan on waiting about half an hour. Or, an even better idea is to call in your order, pick it up then drive down Tomichi (hwy 50) and eat it at the beautiful Park.

We eat here every summer when we visit Gunnison and the locals love it too so it's usually crowded but well worth the wait!

We stopped here for lunch yesterday and we knew we were in the right place because of the line and the brown bags exiting for delivery to local shops. I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you order as great care is put into making the food. Friendly staff too!

Be like a local, as you dine with the Gunnison locals, on the best dang egg sandwiches (remember the hot sauce), quality coffee (real 1/2 & 1/2, if you are serious about your coffee, like me), waffles with real maple syrup, and the most delicious, homemade coleslaw, hummus, and Savannah Bisque soup EVER! Did I mention the pickles yet? And all of their thick sandwiches are stacked with Boar's Head meats and cheeses. So, you'll be experiencing food, prepared by two of the coolest sisters (the Firebrand is their inception), the "fastest Chefe on wheels", and some dedicated, hardworking hipsters, which make up the Firebrand crew. The people and the food, right on down the smallest ingredient, are quality. A stop through the Firebrand is guaranteed to sweeten your Gunnison experience, as you hear the banter from the kitchen, while you fuel up for your day of fly fishing, bike riding, snowboarding, or skiing. The best time to eat there, you ask? 7am sharp, because the coffee has just been brewed, and the atmosphere is...oh, you'll just have to go see. I promise, you'll be happy you did.

P.S- Remember to drop some loose cash into the tip jar! Those folks deserve it, as they fly around that kitchen, whipping up the best food "in Paradise". ;)
