My wife, mother and I visited Asheville to go to the Biltmore Estate. My wife reserved a room in this hotel. Based on the photos, the hotel looked inviting. Upon arrival, Justin, the bell hop, greeted us and unloaded the car. He was very friendly and helpful. The management staff was very receptive. The room exactly matched the photo from the internet. The room was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The hotel is in an a refurbished department and is a historic hote. They have kept the spirit of the department store. This hotel definitely met and exceeded our expectations. It will be in our rotation for a vacation getaway.

The Haywood Park Hotel was recommended by a friend and I am so glad we decided to chose it as our hotel while in Ashville. It was easy to find, the service was great and the rooms were awesome!! The gentleman who checked us in (Ed) was kind and took helpful and took a lot of time answering our questions and recommending attractions. We were greeted with champagne and fresh fruit and started our vacation out on a great note. A special thanks to Justin (the valet) for taking such good care of us. We will definitely return and spend more time at this amazing hotel.

Room Tip: Be sure to read about the history of this hotel. Very interesting.

First trip to Asheville and this was one of the finest hotels we've stayed at. Great staff - valet parking, magnificent room, good gym on premises and right in the middle of everything. The included breakfast was at an attached Starbucks and, while not anything fancy, was a nice touch.
All of the charm of the vintage building's past as a department store added to the charm. Highly recommended!

If you like small hotels, this is a really god one. It is located in downtown Asheville, so it is convenient to walk, shop, and dine. It is only ten minutes from the entrance to the Biltmore Estate, if that is the purpose of your visit. It was constructed from an old department store building, so it has only about 33 rooms. There are lots of amenities, and the rooms are large. We were treated to a glass of sparkling wine in the afternoon and a bag of water and snacks when we checked out. The only negative is a little street noise.

Very clean facility that needs a makeover. Rooms are large, quiet, and comfortable, though dark. bath room looks straight out of the early 80's. Parking is very inconvenient, and there is a strange path to get from parking back to the hotel. Would be careful if you are alone t night.

The location is very central in downtown Asheville, NC.

Room Tip: All are different but similar.

When looking to book in Asheville we wanted a place that was close to downtown and that was also pet friendly. And we found it. When we got to the Haywood around noon we were notified that our room wasn't ready but they would do there best to get it ready and call us when it was. They were at that time willing to take and store our luggage but we just waited. They have a parking garage that is free right around the block but attached for walking into the atrium. Upon arrival we were greeted with champaign or water (we took both) and a dog biscuit for the dog. The room is big, the bathroom is huge. The bed I wouldn't call amazingly comfortable but I generally don't find many hotel beds comfortable. They have a free breakfast which we thought was great. It's located in the atrium and they Starbucks coffee, danishes, eggs, bagels, fruit, oatmeal - it was perfect. We found the hotel to be extremely quiet, in fact we wondered if anyone else was staying there. (Perfect) At night they have a turn down service where they also leave you some truffles from the Chocolate fettish and our dog Molly also received her own bone with her name on it from the Three Dog Bakery - precious. They are very dog friendly and the staff is just amazing. They are so sweet, personable, helpful, dog friendly…and by the time we left our dog just knew where the treats were kept and she would go right behind the counter. She loved them. We would definitely recommend this hotel - it maybe more than some of the other hotels (and we were on a budget) but we found it comparable to others. My only complaint and I also told this to the hotel so this will come as no surprise is that there are not many grassy patches for the dog to go to the bathroom. You have to walk maybe 2 short block. But we often come across this when we stay in city places. We would definitely come back to Asheville and we would definitely stay at the Haywood. Thank you Terri, Brian, Ed, and Bambi - you were all so sweet. Hope to see you again soon!

Most hotels of this caliber seem to "nickel and dime" you with extra charges for parking, breakfast, internet access, etc., so we were very pleasantly surprised by the free valet parking, free substantial "continental" breakfast, free internet, complimentary glass of champagne upon checkin and chocolates on our pillows both days. The building was a former department store though very little hints of that remain. Our room was huge, with king size bed and full size couch, plus a fridge and microwave. The bathroom was enormous. Absolutely every employee we encountered was pleasant and friendly and eager to please. And you're located in the heart of Asheville within walking distance of everything. Expensive, but worth it.
