“Very nice and great price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2013

Booked through Priceline for $40. This is a very clean and conveniently located motel. Just outside of the Biltmore Estate as well as the historic downtown. Staff was very helpful especially Chris at the front desk. What a polite young man! We would definitely stay here again.

My Mom, cousin, and I were planning a girl's trip to Asheville to enjoy the scenery, good food and excellent libations. As such, we really weren't terribly concerned with staying at a "super-nice" hotel, as it would just be our launching pad for day-long adventures out and about in town. So, we did one of those "quickie" website deals, where you don't know with whom you're booking and got this place. Above all, it's clean, which is the most important thing. Secondly, it's perfectly situated--in terms of proximity to the Biltmore and the highway--right on Hendersonville Rd, which is the "main drag" through town. Also, the staff was helpful in giving us directions and suggestions for places to go. We did not use the breakfast offerings, other than coffee. The pool was tiny, but looked immaculately clean. As far as the negatives go, there are two. First, there is no elevator. I saw this once the hotel's name was revealed, but just thought, "We'll request a first floor room when we check-in." Well, I should've done that right away as they were unable to accommodate our request for a first floor room. This was slightly problematic for my Mom, but we managed. Secondly, the hotel is situated on this awkward cliff, and its parking lot isn't adequate for the people staying in the hotel. I had to park at the Outback Steakhouse next door on Saturday night. Granted it was late when we got back to the hotel, but there should be enough parking on site. Overall, it's a perfectly acceptable place to stay, but just be prepared for a hike--when hauling your stuff upstairs to your room, and/or, when you can't find parking in the hotel lot.

Room Tip: No elevator--if it's important, request first floor room upon check-in

The Hotel is nicely located 5 minutes from Biltmore and 10 minutes from Downtown Asheville. The Hotel is very clean. The rooms open to the outside walkway. One of the 2 queen beds was was drooping in the middle and needs to be replaced. The staff is great and friendly. The free breakfast was okay at best.
If you book off of Hotwire and get a great rate - excellent value and then up it a star. I would stay there again.

We booked the GuestHouse International based on reviews for our recent trip to Asheville. It was clean, nice location, and the continental breakfast was a big plus. I would stay here again if I were to take a quick trip in the future.

The hotel has remained consistent- very clean, comfortable and efficient rooms at a well kept up property but one major room problem remains.

The room AC/heating units do not have automatic temperature thermostat controls so one has to constantly turn the fan on and off to remain comfortable.

The rooms are almost immaculately clean and the beds very comfortable- four pillows standard on each of two double beds. The hallways and parking areas are swept clean and in good repair.

The deluxe continental breakfast is nothing special. Heavy on carbs, only ocassionally a meat, no fruit but it is adequate, and included at no extra charge.

The property layout remains awkward with outside access to rooms. There are three stories in the front, two in the rear with counter-intuitive placement of stairwells to get to some rooms. There are a very few parking spots- you may have to park next door at the Texas Roadhouse, away from your room. The property enterance is off a busy street with a razor back turn up a steep hill with blind spot at the top.

The backside of the property is quite. There is moderate road noise on the front side; I'm not sure if it is noticeable in those rooms.

Management is cordial and helpful if not friendly. It is obvious the property is well-run. Unobtrusive security cameras are everywhere.

For a $75 night price range, this is good value for money; if you can get it for $60, it is very good value. It would be even higher if there were HVAC control in the rooms.

Room Tip: Rooms on the backside are quieter. Check-in before before 5pm to get a parking spot near your room.

This is a good hotel except for one thing. They are in an area that blocks cell phone data and call signal. All they need to do is get some boosters to fix this. They have free WiFi bug if you need to call someone your out if luck

Clean rooms, good location, friendly staff. Close to Biltmore and easy to get downtown in about 10 minutes. Nothing to complain about but nothing exceptional. The free breakfast was basic but filled me up. Got a nice rate on Hotwire, so this was a very good value. Overall a solid stay.
