“Warm B&B in Asheville”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 November 2013

I booked Sweet Biscuit Inn for a short visit to Asheville because I was traveling with my mother, who'd never stayed in one before. It was a busy weekend in Asheville and I think we were truly lucky to find such warm and gracious accommodations.

Christian met us, assisted with our bags and directed us to a wonderful nearby restaurant for a great dinner after a long drive. We slept in the 1st room, just behind the porch. At first we worried this would hinder our sleep, but they have lovely thick curtains which can be drawn at night to eliminate any street lights, and honestly, if there was street noise, the bed was so comfortable we didn't hear a thing once we settled in for the evening.

The facilities were tastefully decorated. The front porch has the most comfortable chairs, and after a long day exploring nearby Biltmore we had a great evening visiting on the porch as other guests checked in or left for their evening plans. Fall was an excellent time to visit. We enjoyed simply sipping coffee and people watching. The group breakfast was also a great part of the experience. The first night was quite full, requiring 2 large tables. The next morning however, the dining room had been transformed for a much smaller group, and everyone discussed not only what they'd seen locally, but how it compared to sites they'd visited closer to home. Before the end of the delicious meal, there was an endless stream of animated conversations. It added so much to my mother's experience and making her feel at home meant a lot to me. Christian is a great host and Claudia spoke volumes through her food.

Overall, a lovely stay and better than I think any hotel experience could have been. Personal attention, lots of little touches and great food. What else could you ask for?

Dear Laura B,
what a pleasure it was, to have you and your mother staying with us! When your mother was raving about her bath she enjoyed so much, it really touched my heart. We were glad that you could experience both type of breakfast, the large and the small number of guests, it's really different. Thanks for taking the time, to write so detailed and we hope the rest of your trip was as good as the beginning.
All the best, warmly
Claudia and Christian

My wife and I took a couple days off for a quick trip/vacation to Asheville, NC. Our first night's stay was at the Sweet Biscuit Inn. It was a delight. The inn was clean, quiet, well furnished and quite charming. Perhaps the biggest surprise was Christian (the co-owner with his wife). He was very warm and gracious as he gave us a quick tour of the place culminating in showing us our room. Accommodations were excellent. The inn was very quiet and the bed was quite comfortable. The bed was so comfortable that waking up was tough, but breakfast w/great coffee made the transition easy. One of the dishes was cooked-to-order crepes (there were actually 5-6 flavors to choose from). They were delicious. My wife and I recommend the Sweet Biscuit Inn and look forward to staying there again.

My boyfriend and I stayed here over a fall weekend in October. We'd never stayed at a B&B before and weren't sure what to expect. We had a lovely time. The owners, Claudia and Christian, were incredibly sweet and the food was incredible! Our bed was the softest and most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. We jokingly called it "the cloud" all weekend and it was so nice to come back to each night. We have plans to reserve the same room again next year, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in a B&B in Asheville!

Dear Allison D,
thank you for writing this detailed review! We really enjoyed you both and the interesting conversations we had. The pleasure with which you enjoyed our breakfast was the innkeepers dream, this is what we love to see!
Your intention to make this to an annual trip sounds wonderful, and it would give us the opportunity to get to know you both better, what a pleasure.
Have a colorful fall, and hope to see you next year!

My husband and I stayed here for our fourth anniversary with our baby daughter. Most B&B's would not welcome a young baby, but they never made us feel unwelcome. In fact they were very accommodating to us by providing a pack and play and letting us access the fridge for my daughter's milk. We stayed in room 3 which was sunny and has a large claw foot tub. It was very quiet and relaxing. The breakfasts in the morning were delicious and served at community tables with the other guests. It was so nice to talk with the other guests and get to know people from around the country/world. We even had made to order crepes which were delicious! We ate like pigs! Claudia and Christian also hosted a wine social on the porch which was beautiful. We enjoyed great wine, cheese and company. Upon leaving, we were running a little behind and they were very relaxed about us taking our time getting everything together with the baby. Christian was even nice enough to take some family pictures of us on the porch. Overall it was a lovely weekend away at a wonderful B&B. I would recommend this place everyone, but especially to families. A family friendly B&B is rare! Thanks for a wonderful weekend Claudia and Christian!

Dear lindslovestotravel,
it was so nice to have you as a family, and learning about all the issues you went through was very interesting. I am so glad, that you could enjoy the whole breakfast, without causing any trouble to your baby girl!! The social hour on the porch was probably the last one for this year and we enjoyed it also very much.
All the best for all three of you, and hopefully we will see you next year!
Have a wonderful fall,
Christian and Claudia

Our last minute first trip to Asheville found most places booked up and we managed to get a reservation here for our last couple of days. Nice, quiet location minutes away from the Biltmore and the center of town. We stayed in Room 6, a spacious king with large private bath, free wifi and cable TV. All areas of the house are well maintained. You can tell Claudia and Christian go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable. Everyone eats breakfast together at 8:30 a.m. and it's a real treat with fresh fruit and homemade hot dish and something I've never experienced before, breakfast desert. Just when you think you can't eat any more, you can. We would definitely go back again. Christian showed us a two bedroom cottage out back that has just been renovated and can be rented by the day with or without breakfast. So if you're two, three or four it would be a nice option.

Dear gman47,
thank you for taking the time to review your visit at our inn. How lucky we were to be able to host you and that you gave our beef dish it's final name: "Picadillo", that will always remember your stay!
Hopefully you can come back, with family or without, it will be a pleasure to see you again.
Take care,

Along with 5 other couples we stayed at the Sweet Biscuit Inn for a single night as part of a longer road trip. We opted to stay in 'The Cottage' with another couple so the others would have what we thought would be the 'nicer' rooms. They were quite jealous when they saw how spacious, comfortable and elegantly charming 'The Cottage' was. Super fluffy duvets, comfortable beds, clean and modern bathroom, and a huge downstairs area with kitchen and separate sitting areas. After a quick peek into our friend's rooms (all but 2 of the rooms of the main house) their rooms were equally spacious and lovely. The entire group was happy and how often does that happen with a group of adults?

Breakfast was a further treat with fresh gorgeous raspberries with a dollop of cream, awesomely good coffee, healthy and hearty egg and meat dish along with crepes for breakfast 'dessert'.
Both Christian and Claudia were charming and handily managed our at times boisterous group and left us all wanting to return.

Easy, comfortable and convenient. Not sure why you would stay anywhere else.

Dear PoohCL,

That was a special moment when all your wonderful cars pulled in on our parking lot! And not only the cars were special, no, all the people in your group were so nice and friendly. Your visit was a true fall highlight.
Thank you for choosing us, and for visibly enjoying your stay so much! That goes particularly to you as the organizer; it has been a pleasure working with you and to see everything pan out the way you wanted it to.

Fondly,
