me & my girlfriend booked the "winter wonderland" package thru the hotel, & the experience that wknd was great in every way. the room itself was really nice, including the bathroom, and the location was great; very convenient to the interstate & the entrance to biltmore was literally right down the road. didn't get the chance to interact with the staff while we were there, but their assistance prior to our visit was great. we are already discussing coming back to the area soon, & we will surely be staying here again. highly recommended.

The free cotinental beakfast was the best and most I have ever seen for a continental breakfast. Food was great!

Overall stay was great. I would make a few minor suggestions....1) Housekeeping should be reminded to disinfect and wipe down the shower walls. There was a cluster of long hair plastered to the shower wall, obviously from the previous occupant. 2) We found the pillows to be too high and thick. It would be nice if each room had both soft and firm pillows, allowing the guest to have their preference. (As do the rooms at a large, national chain, which is a nice touch) 3) When a large group is booked, they'll obviously have breakfast together. If this were anticipated and an extra staffer were exclusively working the breakfast area, it would have been helpful, as opposed to the 2 front desk staffers having to run back and forth.
Those points aside, the hot breakfast was a nice change from the usual pastries which comprise "continental breakfast". The rooms, grounds, and entire building were well-kept. The rooms were furnished with nice touches such as granite counters, etc. The staffers were gracious, warm, and friendly. We felt safe and well cared for. Thank you for the hospitality.

Drove from Tarpon Springs, Fla. for a romantic weekend get-a-way and couldn't be happier with our choice of hotel. As being in the same business myself, I critique alot when traveling. Hard to with the Brookstone Lodge. Only regretted not bringing my bathing suit for the indoor hot tub. Some of the reviews didn't like the "free" breakfast, which I cannot understand. It's FREE!!! Hot scrambled eggs, sausage, buscuits and gravy, make your own waffels, that's to name a few. Got an early check-in which was great since we drove overnight, and very tired. All the staff was nice and accommodating, rooms were clean and modern, nice flat screen instead of old tube t.v.'s. Only kinda complaint would be the position of fireplace in lobby. Hard to have a romantic drink by the fireplace next to front door and desk. Overall Great experience, and please stay here instead of the chain hotels! And don't be too picky, our little homes are not perfect!

We stayed at the Lodge in July of 2009 for three nights. The place overall looked nice and we appreciated the fact that they had an indoor pool as our 2 year old loved to swim each evening. The breakfast each morning was not great, they didn't have enough tables and the offerings were pretty slim. Our room was very noisey, we heard doors slamming all night and it got so bad we asked to be switched to another room for the next night. That room was quieter but the AC united had a musty smell. The customer service at the front desk was lacking and some side comments were made about us getting a special rate. The location was good, right off the highway and 10 minutes from Biltmore. We are going back to Asheville but would not stay here again.

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review on Trip Advisor. We are sorry that your experience last July was not up to your expectations, and we hope that you will come and visit with us again. We understand that the immediate area around the hot full breakfast buffet is limited, but that is why we leave our conference room open to dine in as well. Our conference room presents a much quieter and more intimate dining experience. I am sure any comments you felt bothered by were simple misunderstandings as our staff provides the best customer service in the Carolinas. I hope you have a wonderful week, thank you very much.

We chose the Brookstone Lodge based on the very favorable recommendations on Tripadvisor.com. After staying at the Brookstone I suspect that many of the extremely high ratings were placed by employees of the Brookstone Lodge. The facilities are new and the staff are friendly (but nothing beyond what you would expect from a hotel staff). The rate was reasonable, however the room we stayed in was one of the smallest motel/hotel rooms I have ever seen. It was a King bed room and there was literally only room to walk around the bed and a small hall leading to the door with an adequate bath off the narrow hall. I would say that it is comparable to a typical comfort Inn, but with much smaller rooms (Did not see any of the other rooms so there might be larger rooms in the facility).
As others have mentioned the hotel is located in an industrial area and on a fairly busy highway, so don't assume that you will have a room with a view! Also, there is a complimentary continental breakfast with the room but it was nothing to write home about (the typical fare you find at most hotels offering a free continental breakfast).
I would not give a negative recommendation if someone asked my opinion of the Brookstone Lodge, but it was certainly nothing special. The most positive thing about the Brookstone Lodge is that it is a new facility (but time will negate that). This is the only hotel I have stayed in in Asheville but I suspect there are better options.

Thank you very much for writing a review of Brookstone Lodge! We are sorry that your stay with us was ordinary, as we strive to exceed the expectations of our guests. Although as employees we do love our hotel, Trip Advisor does not let us write reviews of the hotel only responses like the one you are reading now. If you felt that our room was a little small please consider one of our spacious suites for your next visit. We also apologize that our scrambled eggs and hot sausage and gravy biscuits were not to your liking, but we hope you found the free hot brownies and cookies to be a delight! Thanks again for your time, and we hope you will give us another shot!
