The receptionist was pleasant and very accommodating. She considered our needs and guided us accordingly.

My mother and I stayed here while meeting up with family before a trip to the beach. We originally spent 2 nights and enjoyed it so much we stayed an additional 3 nights on our return trip. All of the front desk people we dealt with were very friendly, helpful, professional and proactive. (One night a youth group got in the pool rather late, but the front desk clerk quickly took care of the situation when we called.) Upon arrival we noticed that the facility was very clean and homey with wood paneling and overstuffed furniture in the front desk area -- sort of a mountain lodge look. The lobby smelled of the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies and coffee set out for guests.
We stayed in a king room on our way out and a double room on our return trip. Both of the rooms were of excellent quality and very clean. We couldn't ask for more comfortable beds, pillows and linens. The comfort level of the bed is very important to me, and the beds at this facility were top notch, not to mention the 3 fluffy pillows! The bathroom had a granite-topped vanity, tile floor and a rainwater shower head that delivered plenty of hot water. The outside pool is small, but it was very clean and perfect for a quick dip. They have a full range of hot and cold breakfast items from which to choose each morning.
This is a great place to stay when visiting Asheville. It's close to the highway and it's easy to get around from the location. They even sell tickets to the Biltmore Estate -- an Asheville attraction well worth seeing.
One word of advice -- not all Country Inn and Suites are the same. We enjoyed our stay at the Asheville West facility so much that we booked a room at another Country Inn in Clarksville, TN, but it was absolutely sub-standard. If Carlson can bring all of the Country Inn properties up to the standard we experienced at the Asheville West facility, they will have hit on a winning formula!

Room Tip: Ask for any special rates they may have going on!

Wonderful clean rooms, extremely comfortable beds, and an excellent continental breakfast.. The dining facility for breakfast was clean and comfortable, or you could take your meal out to the thoughtfully provided outdoor tables. The staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. They even provided milk in the middle of the night when my husband had a cookies and milk craving. I would return again just because of the courteous, accommodating staff. The lending library is a wonderful idea and one I will take advantage of on my next trip. The cosy area provided for previewing your literary selection is very inviting and I love that you have children's books as well as adults. You can be sure my next trip will find me staying at the Country Inn and Suites in Ashevile and that won't be soon enough for me!

We used to stay at another well-known motel chain in Asheville. Country Inn & Suites in Asheville West is $50.00 cheaper per night than where we used to stay and has the other hotel chain beat in every area! This hotel has been open a year and a half but is so clean that I thought it had just opened. This facility is SMOKE FREE, which we loved. When you stay in a hotel that allows smoking in some of the rooms, then every room smells like smoke. This hotel just smells fresh The breakfast was much nicer than usually provided with healthy options such as oatmeal, fresh fruit, and yogurt as well as the traditional eggs, sausage, biscuits, muffins, cereal, waffles, juice, coffee, etc. The staff was genuinely friendly, patient, and helpful. I felt safe in this hotel (guests seemed to be mostly families). The pool and whirlpool were really nice. I will never go back to the more expensive hotel where we used to stay!
