“The best hotel stay ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 November 2013 via mobile

Aside from being very affordable, this was the best stay at a hotel. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The bed was so comfortable the hot water to shower was actually.....hot. We will be staying at Country Inn and Suites for future travels. Thank you staff!!!!

We stayed here last week (Nov 2013) and were very happy with our choice. (unfortunately our GPS did not recognize 'Old Haywood Rd', but we had a map).
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the complimentary hot breakfast was more than enough (eggs/ sausages/biscuits/pancakes/cereals/etc...).Free in-room WiFi was fast. Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Only downside was the room was too hot-we had the windows open the whole time(we even used the a/c to bring the temp down!).
Close (but not TOO close) to the interstate, and 10-15 min drive from the Biltmore Estate.
We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Best value in town. Very clean with great staff. Room was very nice with all the usual amenities. Breakfast was good with the typical eggs, sausage and waffles. Good location to downtown and The Biltmore house.

The hotel is clean, comfortable, seemingly well run and the price was right. Got this at the last minute (watching the rate the last week) staying two nights Sunday and Monday. We went to Asheville to explore the area, and while it was not terribly close to the downtown district, it was only a 15 minute drive. Very close to the Biltmore and Blue Ridge Parkway. Dunkin Donuts very close by! Go there for coffee and donuts, since the ones served at the hotel breakfast are tiny powdered things that come from a big box store! The breakfast there could be much improved, with some fresher bakery goods. Holiday Inn Express breakfasts rule! This hotel's did not.

The other suggestion I offered them was to allow internet users to log onto the wifi once in a 24 hour period instead of asking for verification every time you leave the system for more than an hour. Pretty annoying on an Iphone. Also, their welcome cookies in the front desk area? Either fresh(er) or not at all. They are hard, and taste cheap.

Good points for fitted sheets on a comfy bed. Also, good shower head and water pressure. A quiet location. Nothing scenic tho, just a basic, good value, clean hotel.

Room Tip: Upper floor. Beware, the elevator is very slow.

Sets the standard for Customer Service. Called the room just after check in to see what we needed. Got suite for in-laws with 2 TVs (bedroom and main room). Maintenance came immediately to adjust one TV. Showerhead a treat on gentle rain. Breakfast great variety. Wish shopping like Biltmore Village was walking distance. Easy drive downtown or Biltmore.

Room Tip: Suite room made a good gathering spot.

Rooms are clean and the property is fairly new construction.

My big issue is that newer limited service hotels are constructing their properties to maximize the number of rentable rooms which makes the rooms smaller. The room we had was equipped with 2 queen size beds - as a consequence there is very little room to move around. We did not even have a comfortable chair to sit in. As a suggestion, ask for a room with one king size bed - those rooms have a couch and table.

Other observations - breakfast is very good. Staff is very friendly but they lack knowledge of the area. For instance I asked how long it takes to drive to the Smokey Mountain National Park and they did not know - there were few other questions I had that they could not answer either. Had to ask for soap one day and tissues on another - both of which should have been provided as part of the daily room service.

Room AC did not work properly and the sink did not control the water temperature both of which were frustrating but I am sure they will fix it and are probably not incidental to every room.

Lobby is a very small area lacking a TV - my wife goes to bed early and I like to stay up in the lobby to watch TV - not an option here. Property has a TV in the breakfast room.

Would I stay here again - yes - the purpose of our trip was not to hang around the hotel but rather to se the local sights. However, the items noted were frustrating. With respect to the cost and experience I would say there is a good value proposition.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 2nd floor - we were on the 3rd floor and the elevator is very slow.
