We are overnighting in Asheville, NC making our way to our winter home in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Across the street from our hotel is a Brixx Wood Fired Pizza outlet. We arrived at 11:45 AM and we're seated at a table for eight. We did not have to share the table, but an eight top for two is not sound business.

Our waitress, Viviana, took our drink orders. They had a large number of craft beers and Viviana did an excellent job of matching our taste of Blue Moon with one of her local brews. I am always impressed with servers that know their products. She did a good job.

The pizzas are ten inches. We usually share a twelve inch, but we went with two that sounded great. The wife had the Mexican "black-bean spread with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, wood-roasted chicken, roma tomatoes and sliced fresh jalapenos topped with sour cream". She had the sour cream placed on the side. Very rarely in the US do we have pizzas made with fresh ingredients. This was a great pie.

I went with the "Rustica, that contains
prosciutto, mozzarella, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives and roasted garlic". Both pies benefited from the Brixx oven crust that was done to perfection. Each pie was in the $10.00 price range.

We will try this chain again when we are back in our summer home in the Knoxville, TN area.

I have been on a quest to find good pizza in the south (I come from the northeast). This place just became my go-to for great pizza! Thin crust - cooked just right! Spinach and artichoke appetizer was one of the best I have ever had - served with garlic toast pieces. Beer of the month only $3 - how can you go wrong? I'll be back!

We wanted a quick dinner. Our waiter was very good. We got breadsticks and they were excellent. We split a 10" pizza. The crust was very good. Like the thin crust. Overall, however, the pizza was just average.

Four friends went to dinner at Brixx after seeing a movie nearby. What a disappointment! The guys enjoyed their beers, our salads were fine but both pizzas were only mediocre, How do you take the flavor out of a pizza? And, how could the pies be so bland in a restaurant known for its pizza? What am I missing? With so many wonderful places to get a great pizza in Asheville, obviously we won't eat at Brixx again.
