“Nice quiet neighborhood and very roomy house”
Reviewed 29 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

Close to airport , Asheville and Blue Ridge Parkway. Very spacious house, well equipped for extended stays. Comfortable furnishings although a little dated. Well maintained. If we return to the area, we would consider staying here again.

“GREAT place for a large family group!”

Property was as nice as described and well maintained. The home was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. Stephanie was a gracious and helpful home owner, patient with our requests and clear with her instruction. The little ones in our extended family group had a wonderful time in the bunkroom/playroom and on the playground in the big backyard. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to fix a proper Thanksgiving meal! The oven in the second kitchen downstairs was hugely helpful! Great choice for a family oriented trip to the area. Was a 20-30 minute drive to Triple Falls, where we enjoyed a short hike. Was also a short 15-20 minute drive to Biltmore Park, where we enjoyed shopping, a movie and several choices for a quick dining out. The BIltmore was a 20 minute drive away, which was decorated beautifully for Christmas. Most other locales in Asheville were about a 25-30 minute drive away. We had a great stay and would love to return!

“Comfortable, spacious vacation home”
Reviewed 3 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

“Comfortable, spacious vacation home”

Our three generation family had a comfortable week at spacious White Stone Manor. The layout of the bedrooms allowed for the 'early to bed, early to rise' as well as the night owls in the family the luxury of special time alone without disturbing other family members. The kitchen was well stocked for both cooking and baking and the large dining room gave us all a chance to eat together. The huge back yard allowed for games of bocce ball and corn hole to go on at the same time the fire pit was in use for s'mores. Thanks for the opportunity to make more memories.

“Wonderful Family Vacation House!”
Reviewed 29 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Our extended family of 11, six adults and five children ages 2 to 10, stayed at the White Stone Manor for a week. The house is huge - much bigger than it looks in the pictures on line, and the yard is amazing! The furniture is very comfortable, and the kitchen has abundant supplies of everything needed to prepare family meals. The kids could play downstairs while we adults relaxed upstairs! Everyone commented on how comfortable the beds were, and the white fluffy towels and very nicely designed bathrooms were great. The kids loved playing in the yard and walking around the pond. There are so many things to do in the Hendersonville and Asheville area, but it was hard to leave the comforts of the house to go elsewhere! We definitely recommend this property!

“Everything you want and expect and then some”

Our family stayed at the Manor for a week from 7/26 to 8/2. The house is clean and large and accommodated 12 people and 2 small dogs (5 children). The family with 4 children stayed on the lower level where they had bunk beds for the boys, a quiet corner for the baby, and plenty of toys and books in the playroom. The 2 young girls in the group shared the Princess Room and loved it. All the adults had comfortable rooms. The house is equipped to an unbelievable extent - almost anything you may need or want is there. It was fun opening doors and drawers to find what Stephanie has provided - we especially appreciated the baby beds, stroller, and high chair as the family members traveling from Alabama did not have to bring those items (more room in their van for fun stuff). The grounds are super - it was wonderful to have room to walk the little dogs without leaving the property. The lake is fun to see - a large koi, lots of little fish, and a snapping turtle who likes burned toast. We enjoyed the fire pit for roasting hot dogs and marshmallows and sitting there to watch the young ones play on the play set and run around the large grounds - there was even a nice trail around the lake that was just right for a small dog walk. The bird watchers in the group enjoyed the green heron who came every day and the occasional kingfisher. On the whole, you could not find a better place to rent for a family vacation. The price is quite reasonable for such a well equipped place to use as a base for visiting attractions in the area. Give Stephanie a call and see if she can fit in your group for a great experience!

“Wonderful base for our family vacation week in the mountains!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

With 5 small children and 7 adults, we needed a place with child-friendly activities, adult luxuries, and space! This house has it all. Very flexible living/sleeping spaces allowed our 3 oldest grandchildren and their parents to have the lower level suite with large toy & game areas, bunk beds, and a queen bedroom, along with large screen TV media room where the adults could watch movies or sports with good audio/visual equipment. The kitchen, laundry and bath here were very useful too. Upstairs the couple with small baby had the Serenity master suite, with little noise and maximum privacy; their 2 year old loved the Princess Room. Every need for infants/small children was met as to beds, stroller, chairs, and so forth. Other adults had the queen bedroom and Lake master suite end of the house, with plenty of room and 2 more baths. Outdoor and indoor equipment for children was available, altho some items were not in prime condition. The main level kitchen and eating area were large, well lighted, and accomodated us all in comfort, and the large deck and grilling area overlooked the back yard with its playground equipment, hammock, and various tables and chairs for picnicking or reading. We did not use the fire pit but the area appeared to need some work before the fall season. The children caught minnows and frogs in the pond and adults watched the birds and wildlife from the deck or yard. The hot tub on the lower deck was a treat for all. An early plumbing issue was responded to and addressed immediately on a Sunday night, and there were no other problems. The house location in Hendersonville is near many beautiful trails, waterfalls, and historic sites, not to mention Asheville and the Biltmore House. We visited several, and enjoyed the local fireworks display on Independence Day with only a short trip to the wonderfully diverse downtown area. There are good restaurants, nearby grocery shopping, a childrens museum, and many benefits of Asheville with less traffic. The only addition we would have used is a swimming pool for the older children, altho they swam at the nearby Y. We would recommend this house especially for large families with younger children.

Management Response
31 Aug 2014
I so appreciate all the wonderful things you mentioned in your review about my home and its location. The White Stone Lake Manor is a very spacious and well-equipped home perfect for family reunions. It is well maintained, extremely clean with many thoughtful touches throughout….as our many 5 star reviews state.

I really appreciate the improvement suggestions: The fire pit itself has always been in great shape, but I have replaced the fire pit chair that this guest brought to my attention that was a bit wobbly. In questioning this guest further about what was not in prime condition, it was pointed out that the fabric roof over one of the child’s forts was a bit faded and could be replaced. We constantly check that the playground is a strong and safe environment for children. We do our very best to make sure all our furnishings, appliances, equipment and grounds are in great condition. In fact, my contractor works for me full time and is always available to take care of any problems that may arise….such as the stuffed animal a child had flushed down the toilet when this family first arrived!
