My sisters and I did The High Roller Eating Asheville Tour. We stopped at seven different restaurants, and were pleasantly surprised with how much food and wine we received.
This was a fun experience to visit a variety of restaurants, meet the chefs and ask questions.

One of the best ways to experience Asheville if you are only staying for a few days and have dinner options already in mind, such as Curate. The restaurant choices are very good, with some that we did not even think we would time to taste and others we did not even know about, and they are very easy to walk to from each other. Don't think about it, just do it.

We very much enjoyed our tour, the food, and our guide, Hank. We stopped at 7 different restaurants, and were pleasantly surprised with how much food (and alcohol!) we received at each. By the end, we were too full to finish each dish. The restaurants were very well selected and the food was delicious. I wish we had done this in the beginning of our trip so we could have used the trip as a guide in selecting places for dinner. I liked walking around the city and hearing different tidbits from hank. Highly recommend. A very good deal for the price.

I took the regular tour over this past weekend. I was very excited for this and it was a great tour. We had Hank as our guide and he was very knowledgeable about the food, restaurants and Asheville. We started in the book shop and had some sparkling wine and 2 different fish canapes. The salmon was wonderful. From there we went to the chip company and had yummy chips with feta cheese on them. After this we went to the Strada and had a (small) glass (sip) of wine along with very good tortellini. After that we went to the chestnut and had a yummy brunch menu of brisket. Onto Seven Sows for some butterscotch pudding. Then to Laureys for gazpacho, kale salad and a brownie. Finally we ended up at French Broad Chocolate lounge for some amazing chocolates. All in all it was very good. I only had 2 things to mention. I would have liked more wine or beer pairings. We only had the sparkling wine to start and the small glass at the Strada.
Also I would have preferred only one 'dessert' and more savory dishes.

We did not get to see the chefs prepare the food as others have mentioned but we had a big group so maybe this was why.
I definately would recommend.

We participated in the High Roller tour on a recent Thursday, visiting six eateries within a few blocks of the meeting place. We enjoyed the experience overall. Stuart was our guide and was very knowledgeable about the restaurant scene in Asheville. Our group was a large one of 18 which is apparently the maximum size. The group really should be smaller to take advantage of some of the rather small establishments we visited. Of the places we visited, Cucina 24 especially impressed us with their corn risotto and overall menu choices. We would like to visit there to sample more of the menu.
