“Had fun tubing! Although the ride was short.”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

It is a great place to go tubing, although the ride is a little short. They give you ice pops after the ride.

Also this is the same place some of the members from Hunger Games went to have a relaxing time while they were filming one of the Hunger Games movies. There is a picture (that includes Jennifer Lawrence and her double, and some other members of the film crew) as a screensaver. Please make sure you pay attention to that or ask the person that is at the counter to show you the picture.

“Fun Float Down the French Broad”
Reviewed 29 June 2014

Really fun, inexpensive way to enjoy the outdoors around Asheville. You can float/paddle down the French Broad in a kayak, canoe, or tube. Beautiful river ride with no rapids - perfect for beginners and those who just want an easy ride down the river. The owner, Dave, is very hands on and made sure we had a great experience.

“Good fun!”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

We did the quickest of the tubing offerings opting for the short walk up the banks of the French Broad and then jumping a a tube to float leisurely down to the AOC. The staff were very friendly and the free popsicle at the end was a nice refreshing suprise!

“Fun and easy float trip with a great company!”
Reviewed 12 June 2014

We had a really great time on the 7-mile float trip. We booked two kayaks for a 10am start. We got views of the Biltmore and the Biltmore Inn, as well as plenty of wildlife. The paddling is pretty easy, as you're going with the current, and there's only a few places with rapids. The guide staff at AOC give you a pretty clear list of instructions before you go out. The single kayaks are the sit-on-top kind, so bring sunscreen for your legs. If it's a warm day, we would definitely suggest starting at 10am, as it can get rather warm on the river. We took a little over 2 hours to complete the trip, but you could certainly go more slowly if you wanted to. FYI, on this section of river there's no place for you to stop and get out along the banks since it runs through private property. Wait until you're done for a picnic or be ready to eat a snack on your boat.
