“The best mac & cheese ever!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

Stopped in for a small snack and a tasty cocktail after a day of zip lining. I had read an article about the Storm Rhum bar and some of the crafted cocktails that they make. The Devils Oasis intrigued me. We had our kids with us so we took a seat outside at one of their many tables. We were lucky enough to get free parking at the lot across the street after 5pm. We ordered drinks along with boiled peanuts and the mac & cheese for the kids. The drinks were delicious and the Devils Oasis was even better than I was expecting. I had to order another one!! The boiled peanuts are a fun southern tradition that we enjoy when traveling in the south. My kids thought they were weird but they just kept eating them. The highlight of our snacks was the mac & cheese that is made with bacon and roasted jalapeño. It was so creamy and tasty that it was demolished before I could get another bite. So, of course we had to order another one! Service was great and we enjoyed sitting outside. Would love to go back sometime for date night and enjoy the bar area.

“Great Find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

Four friends and I went to Strom in June and had a fabulous meal. The service was outstanding and the variety of offerings was perfect for our group, including a friend who must have gluten free food. There is a parking lot across from the restaurant which makes it convenient for those driving. Our server, Drew, even got suggestions from the chef of other restaurants we could try on the day that they are not open. It was a great way to spend an evening for five friends who traveled from different parts of the US to visit Asheville. Highly recommend Strom.

“Nice outside dining area”

Nice menu...go on Mondays...Burger and Beer for $10! Can't beat it if you like some of the local drafts...outside dining is great if the weather cooperates. Service is great...

“Not our favorite”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

Living in Asheville gives us many wonderful choices for restaurants. We recently tried Storm and unfortunately all four of us were not impressed. My biggest complaint is too much salt. I had the tile fish and with all the different ingredients on that plate you would think I would taste more than salt. My husband also commented that his burger was salty. Who knows maybe the chef just had a heavy hand that night, but when we pay $100 including tip for dinner for four we want to be pleased and we were not. The teenagers struggled with what to order; granted they don't venture out much when it comes to food. The only thing they would try was the macaroni and cheese and for $9 a bowl I wasn't impressed. We had two different rum drinks and they were just ok. The atmosphere was nice and the outdoor seating is nice as well. Service was very good.

“Good food, great staff!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

We went to Storm on a Saturday night without reservations.....and we were SO lucky that the hostesses 'fit' us in! We found seats at the bar, and enjoyed cocktails before our dinner. Nice wine selection, local beers, and of course, many rum drinks! We were seated outside fore dinner, and it was a beautiful night, so we loved it. Had the boiled peanuts to start, spicy and good. Two of us had the trout, one had the grouper, and one had the steak special. Portions are perfect - you can actually eat your whole meal without having twice as much left! The food was very good. We even had room for dessert - chocolate brownie cake with homemade ice cream. Yummy! Thank you for a nice evening!
