“Great Entertainment Value”
Review of McCormick Field

Owner description: McCormick Field opened its gates for the first time in 1924 when the Asheville Tourists played host to the Detroit Tigers. Over the years the stadium has encountered numerous renovations, most recently a seating bowl makeover in 2015, that has ensured the stadium remains up with the times while keeping its lustrous history and throwback feel. With a capacity of just over 4,000, the dynamic during a game is intimate and scenic. It is a hitter friendly Minor League ballpark thanks to a short porch in right field and a 42-foot high wall in right-center. McCormick Field is still inhabited by the Asheville Tourists, the Single A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

“Great Entertainment Value”

Went to see the Asheville Tourists play. Weather was perfect and it is a great value. $11 for a box seat three rows back to see a fun game. Can't beat it.

Asheville Tourists games are fun! Check them out if you need something to do, very entertaining, and not just the baseball

“Take me out to the ballgame!!!!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Super fun date night or family night. Great choices of food around park. Staff does great job making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Almost every night offers something extra special. Great way to spend an evening and tons cheaper than a dark movie theater.

“Needs a little moore ooomph. . .”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

I love visiting minor league ball parks, and had high hopes for the Tourists homepark, but it is a bit dull, and frankly, the outfield view of the hillside hovered atop with a high school bleacher, well it just kind of felt blahhh. Beers were well priced, restrooms better than some (take that Savannah), but the franks were just plain inexcusable. Good news: Tourists have some good players.

“Asheville Tourists”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

If you are a baseball fan, you need to go see a Tourists game. They are much better than single A ball, and a delight to go see. The park is great--kept in good condition but still 'vintage' enough to invoke fond memories of childhood and older ballparks. Try to go on Thirsty Thursdays, where beers are just $1 (after a $1 donation to get your wristband).
