Owner description: McCormick Field opened its gates for the first time in 1924 when the Asheville Tourists played host to the Detroit Tigers. Over the years the stadium has encountered numerous renovations, most recently a seating bowl makeover in 2015, that has ensured the stadium remains up with the times while keeping its lustrous history and throwback feel. With a capacity of just over 4,000, the dynamic during a game is intimate and scenic. It is a hitter friendly Minor League ballpark thanks to a short porch in right field and a 42-foot high wall in right-center. McCormick Field is still inhabited by the Asheville Tourists, the Single A Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.

“Take me out to the Ball Game...”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Last night I spent a delightful evening at McCormick Field watching the Asheville Tourists, they did lose the game (can’t win them all!), but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and they really go all out to make it a fun experience.

I found the ticket prices almost ridiculously refreshing. I was in a box seat, front row A between third base & home plate for only $13.00!

The place is easy to maneuver, clean, quaint, very beautiful as baseball stadiums go, and offers a wide variety of foods, drinks, related apparel, and of course the traditional souvenirs.
They really make every effort to keep you entertained pretty much every minute, even between innings, each of which offers a fun contest with kids or adult-kids competing for prizes in cute games like bean bag toss, rocking horse races, base running challenges versus the Tourist’s Mascot, and many more.

The music was light hearted and fun, the announcer very entertaining, and occasional fun noises abound such as breaking glass when a foul ball goes near the announcers booth, followed “coincidentally” with a voice-advertisement for a local glass company, surprise, surprise.

Something I've never experienced at a ball game before: our section being box seats (What does that mean anyway? Nothing boxy about them.) We actually had a waitress with a menu!

Worthwhile experience, fun evening and I will definitely be back!

“What a fun little ballpark!”
Reviewed 11 August 2014

Watched a game between Asheville and Greensboro, and enjoyed some great local food and beer, and picked up some souvenirs along the way. Nice little park, beautifully maintained. Great staff throughout and the place was spotless.

“Doggie night”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

This is the second year we have gone to McCormick Field for dogs at the park(bring your dog night). The staff as usual very helpful and accommodating all the dogs got along and their owners were very respectful. This is a great small city ballpark whether it's dogs at the park or any night. The park is safe, clean and very well managed. The prices are very reasonable the food is typical ballpark food but affordable to working class folks. There is entertainment between innings geared to the kids and if it doesn't bring a smile to your face then nothing will. I hope to go back many times. And a thanks to the staff for making our visit so memorable.

“Great little ball park”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Several neighbors got together to attend a baseball game there and we loved every minute of the game, contests, stadium, food and total atmosphere. A lot of fun with family or friends for little money.

“A cute Ballpark”

We went to see the filed and buy a gift for our son. It is a very clean and neat stadium. The home of the Asheville Tourists.
