“Eclectic and beautiful...”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 via mobile

My husband and I have been to Asheville numerous times, and we always find something new. Asheville is a very walk-friendly town. There are brass history fact plates on the sidewalk to teach you about this great city. Statues and monuments are everywhere. Street performers, great restaurants, art galleries and just plain fun on every corner!

“Not your typical southern town”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

I came to Asheville, for a family wedding. I had never been up this way before. I am from, San Francisco, California. I come from a conservative, southern, family, where I am the "black sheep" and not so conservative, so I was bracing myself, for coming back to the South and spending time in a sleepy little town, with only fast fried food to eat and not much going on.

What I found was quite surprising. It was like the Berkeley, California of the South, with live music playing on the streets, funky restaurants, quality food, lots of art galleries and unique shops, music stores and the most wonderful central park plaza. I spent a lazy, sunny, afternoon there with family and their children playing on an enormous water platform that squirts water at intervals by surprise and the kids got very wet and loved it. There must of been over 50 kids jumping up and down as the water squirted up from the platform. Walked over to the ice cream vendor, had a chat and returned to sit and watch the action. They were getting ready to set up a cover on a stage. Looks like there would be a live performance that night.

“Everywhere art”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

I did not expect so many galleries but they are everywhere. If you like original and unique art this is the place to go. You will find something you like in one of the many many many galleries.

“Discerning Fine Art and Excellent Functional Design”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

Always knew Asheville had wonderful high end craft, now there is high caliber fine art. Three galleries come to mind Artetude Gallery on Patton Ave, incredible work! Also Blue Spiral, oldest gallery in downtown Asheville and Haen Gallery, also have a great selection of good work.
