Description: Our Southern dishes and libations are served with a creative twist and a smile, and we serve our guests nothing that we wouldn't want on our own supper table. When we play with our food (and we think it's okay), the result is scrumptious. We're rooted in the Mountain South, and our menu is inspired by time-honored traditions: pickling and frying, canning and preserving, and utilizing seasonal produce and ingredients to prepare delicious, scratch-made creations.

Excellent steak salad cooked to perfection with a wide variety of fresh vegetables and fruit. Husband had a house speciality of fried chicken and sweet potato pancakes. Large servings. We sat at counter and it was exciting to watch the multiple chefs in action. Those guys hustle. This is a busy place. Great Asheville vibe.

I just visited Asheville for the first time and was told by a friend that I had to try Tupelo Honey. So glad I did! The fried green tomatoes were excellent! The baked macaroni and cheese was so yummy. The portion sizes are huge so no one will leave hungry! And the service was fantastic, even though they were incredibly busy. Will definitely be back!

We had dinner here our 1st night in Asheville after walking around downtown and stopping in at a few galleries. The food was very good and portions were more than adequate. The biscuits with honey and local jam were delicious to begin our meal. The fried chicken was tasty and crisp and the Cobb salad was just what I wanted. Someone in our group had the beef short ribs and recommended them. Desserts looked interesting but we were all too full to try any...maybe next time ! Prices were reasonable!

Went to this cafe based on a recommendation from a river guide. The food was really fresh and fabulous, with some unexpected pairings like fried green tomatoes with basil and grits. So good! And the “Old Skool” breakfast bowl was out of this world, with grits, bacon, eggs, and salsa verde. I have to say the biscuits did not live up to my standard, but no one makes them like my mom used to.

We live in Asheville and always take our first-time guests to this location for dinner. They have a diverse menu with lots of southern items to choose from. Note, Friday is a great night because drumming will be taking place outside at the park across the street. Make reservations as it is a popular place during the tourist season (no reservations on Saturday nights). We prefer eating inside as the "outside" area is a bit warm in the summer, too cold in the winter, and very tight seating. There is another location south of town - same menu but atmosphere is not as nice.
