It feels (and Tastes) like NYC, but the friendliness (and Price) of Asheville. My wife and I come for our newly acquired taste: the Hootch. But we end up staying for the tapas and (often) the wonderful dinners. This place is another reason we are lucky to live in Asheville!

We come to Asheville a couple/few times a year and we always make sure to stop in here for a drink. My boyfriend craves their Dark & Stormy drink and I always get the Buttercup. We have also tried their truffle & parmesan popcorn--- yummy. We usually sit downstairs at the main bar. In the warm months, the upper outside deck is popular (it was filled the one time we did try to sit there).
This is a great "start the night off" or "wind the night down" place to enjoy some tasty cocktails.

GO HERE! GET THE HOUSE CREATIONS! We heard about this while on a food tour, which stopped at the attached restaurant, Strada (also excellent!), and had to stop in for drinks afterwards. We spent 2.5 hours there, and were absolutely comfortable, happy, and well-treated. Love this place!

Two couples enjoyed dinner at The Social Lounge & Tapas (not to be confused with another good place...The Social bar & grill). I had the Veal Parm al Fresce (sp?) There were three large pieces of veal, some grilled vegies and excellent risotto. We sat upstairs...it was a little warm, and we tried to vent the door open for some fresh air. The menu had a variety of proteins available. OH...and try the stuffed figs appetized...WOWw! I am glad the other gal did not want her's...hubby & I split it! They will be closing for a bit (in January?) to do some renovations. They currently allow the menu from Strada Italian as an option...I think they are going to "fly solo" and offer their own variety of foods. Either way, will be a great place to visit, especially when warmer so the outdoors upstairs patio can be used.

lively atmosphere (who in Asheviile doesn't have that) and an intimate setting (long thin space next to larger next-door 'sister' place) make this a great place for starters or late nite but maybe not a great dinner spot. good food offerings (asiago popcorn appetizer was a surprise hit). upstairs rooftop area is probably a great spot but was closed for private during our visit.
