Besides being a spectacular estate, this is the most well organized tourist attraction I have visited in my 50 years of travel. All staff is approachable, friendly and helpful; they act like you are visiting their own home. That's a big plus toward enjoying the Biltmore experience. We spent 14 hours there over a 2-day visit and still didn't see all we wanted to see. The motorized tour of the estate is all in one a history of forestry in the U.S., a biography of Frederick Law Olmsted, and an overview of the vast estate property --- worth every nickel.. Not to belittle the house, the gardens and the village, but the motorized tour stands out most in my mind. Prepare to do a lot of walking and take a lot of photos. Don't miss having some ice cream after visiting the house. I suggest pre-purchasing your tickets on line and picking them up at 4:00 pm the day before; that allows you to spend a few hours in the gardens and/or the village on that first day.
