“Asheville Cottages-The Maple”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

We stayed at the Maple cottage for two nights and were very happy to find it was as immaculate and furnished with all of the amenities as expected from the website. We selected the Maple over the other cottages because it did not have all the steps, making it easier for us. However, they all looked nice and the decks are private. We enjoyed the luxury amenities, such as heated bathroom tile and towel rack, and the snacks and drinks provided. Every detail was thought of, from the soft toilet paper to the fine linens, towels, and spa robes.

The location was convenient, about 15 minutes to downtown and the Biltmore. Yet we were in a private location, even spotting a bear around 7:00 pm at the opening to the woods, not far from the trash receptacle.

We reported that the celing fan was not working, and Marshall replaced the fan the same day. After we checked-out we realized we left a new, Brookstone flashlight plugged into the outlet. Marshall did not hesitate to FedEx it to us! They could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. We give this cottage the highest rating on all accounts!

We had a lovely stay here in this cottage, it is in a wonderful location in Asheville. Close to the Blue Ridge Parkway road, town and restaurants. The cottage itself was better equipped than my home - it had everything we needed and more!!! The owners were very accommodating and hospitable. we would highly recommend Asheville cottages to anyone who was looking to stay in the area.

Everything was just right for our extended weekend getaway. The accommodations were what we expected and more. The modern conveniences coupled with the quiet surroundings made for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We definitely will recommend the Rosewood cottage to our friends and family.

We stayed in The Laurel cottage and could not have been happier! Not only was it comfortable and clean but to have area information on places to visit and eat was such a thoughtful suprise. The snacks that were made available allowed us to head out earlier for hiking and not have to worry about buying groceries for breakfast (even though the kitchen is fully equipped for such). I agree with many of the other comments....THE BED WAS SO COMFORTABLE and the HOT TUB WAS OUR FAVORITE THING!! We have already recommended the cottages to others and will definitely be back!

We were in the Poplar Cottage for a week and loved every moment of it. Special care was made to make us feel very special including a lovely welcome basket of kitchen goodies, fluffy robes, an electric fireplace, soothing hot tub. I should also mention heated towel rack, piped in music in bedroom, updated appliances, and a lovely setting. We had privacy, yet the cabin is only 10 minutes from most attractions. I definitely look forward to a return trip soon.

We were in the Popular/Chestnut cottage, each unit with 1 bedroom. When I think of a cabin in the woods, I don't think of stainless steel appliances, a washer and dryer, a private back deck with a hot tub, a bed with speakers in the headboard, soft towels and bathrobes, and a kitchen complete with every appliance and utensil one could ever use, but that's what you get at the Asheville Cottages. The refrigerator was stocked with water, soda, cream, ketchup, mustard, etc. On the counter were granola bars, pita chips, muffins, and other tasty snacks. The cottages are located just outside of Asheville, but minutes from downtown. The loudest noise we heard while there was crickets. This was my type of "roughing it." Oh yeah!

We stayed at The Chestnut for 3 nights. Walking into the 'cottage', it reminded me a 'model house', except this is only one bedroom house. It is new, tastefully done, very clean. They have thought about everything.. heated floor in bathroom, towel warmer and very quiet bathroom exhaust fan. Not cheap. Appreciate the owner's consideration for guests for more expensive alternative. I was afraid of not having coffee and milk in the morning, but they have provided enough of those we normally get in a hotel to get by. Coffee maker was 'Mr. Coffee', but, it was not one of those cheap one and made 'good' coffee. Kitchen was fully stocked with pots and pans and gadgets.
Each building has two units(cottages), but deck was arranged away from each other and there are trees between buildings, it is very private. We did not hear anybody.
Obviously, they provided enough bandwidth for WIFI, we did not have any issues with internet connections.
Since they are tacked away to create quiet setting, it would probably take 5 - 10 minutes on foot to get to a main road. You need a car or a bike.
We loved this place. I highly recommend it if you want to spend sometimes in Asheville or drive around Blue Ridge Parkway.
