“Unique, kitschy and cozy with rustic ambiance.”
Reviewed 6 February 2010

We stayed at the motor court because we like kitschy places. These cabins are rustic (built in the 1940s) and come without any frills, which is what we wanted.

The service was excellent, from the person who took the phone reservation to the woman who greeted us warmly upon arrival.

The Hillbilly cabin had its own small bathroom and shower, a coffee maker, a TV and the lovely fireplace—everything we needed for a cozy, comfy night. We also liked the small porch with rocking chairs where we sipped our morning coffee.

The best thing was the great price and falling asleep by the warm fire. The only drawback was the small size and that the cabin leaned a bit, which made me dizzy.

After our camping plans got rained out, a friend recommended the Log Cabin Motor Court to my husband and I. Once we arrived, we couldn't imagine a better place to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary. Quaint, simple with a fantastic location. It wasn't as remote as I imagined but tucked enough away from the road. VERY reasonable for the area...especially during peak foliage season! We are already planning our next trip back!

We stayed at the Log Cabin Motor Court because we were traveling from Pennsylvania to pick up a Welsh Terrier puppy near Asheville. It was truly a great American experience-It was like stepping back in time to the 1930's. The cabins are immaculately clean and the bathrooms very functional. If you are looking for good basic lodgings (no frills) and want to experience a piece of true Americana, this is really a great place to stay!

We came down from Pittsburgh with our two greyhounds and had the most relaxing time.
The owners were extremely kind and friendly, the women that took care of the cabins were fun to talk to and paid attention to details. You forget your so close to the city! Dont expect bells and whistles,(your in a cabin), expect to be treated well, have a good time, and above all meet some cool neighbors while your there. No doubt we will return!!!

My husband and & I got married in Asheville on June 23, 1999. Ten years later, for our anniversary, we wanted to go back and relive some of the memories.
When he told me where we would be staying, all I could say was WHAT? A log cabin? My idea of a vacation is a fancy hotel, breakfast buffet, an indoor pool and a jacuzzi.
It is no where near a log cabin. Well, I was wrong. It is a pristine setting jumping back in time. It has everything you need. Of course, by need I mean, no WIFI, no big color TV, no buffet, no pool and no jacuzzi. It was great, after the shock wore off. The cabin we were in was clean and well maintained. A very rustic feel. Refreshing from temperatures at home of 100+. The staff was helpful and made us feel welcome. All the guests were friendly, not nosy. In all honesty, I would have to admit it was one of the best trips we have made.

We have always stayed in motels on all of our travels, but this being our tenth anniversary and ten years since our last trip to Asheville, we wanted something memorable. I had started looking into "bed and breakfast" lodging, when I ran across the ad for this motor court.

The cabins are 70 years-old with uneven floors and nothing is square. The cabin smells of smoke from the wood-burning fireplace. The road leading up to the cabins wasn't paved but gravel... and we loved it all!!!

The cabins are kept immaculately clean. Our cabin had a fridge, ceiling fan and excellent A/C (not that it was needed). I spent a large part of my time on the porch enjoying the rocking chair and a glass of ice tea.

The staff was friendly, helpful and engaging. We hope we didn't slow them down from doing their jobs, we loved talking to them. Even though you feel you're in the middle of the woods, with all of the trees and wildlife, it's actually only 10 minutes from downtown Asheville.

If you like a little "character" and a laid-back atmosphere, you'll love the place. Just understand you're getting a little history with all it's quirks and character.
