Have travelled to the US several times, but this was our very first experience of staying at a B&B and we think we have experienced the best first! We can only echo all other positive comments already made. Emily immediately gave us local maps and pointed out places of interest and areas for eating. We stayed in the Wilkinson Room for 4 nights. It's not a huge room, but we were aware of that as all the rooms are on the website. The bed was very comfy. There are 5 rooms of varying sizes and prices, so you can choose according to what you like.

Each morning Emily and Bill served us a delicious two course breakfast at 9.00am, but with coffee and tea available from 7.30am. On return in the afternoon there was always lovely home baked cookies or brownies, tea and coffee. There was also the use of a fridge in the kitchen to store your own drinks.

We walked into Asheville town on three of the evenings and enjoyed the locally brewed beer at various places and had a good meal each time. Can recommend Laughing Seed (vegetarian), Farm Burger (all organic), and Chai Pani (Indian). On the final evening, we walked to Nine Mile Restaurant a couple of roads away in Montford Avenue which serves Caribbean style food - once again amazing food and wish we could have stayed more days as there was so much to choose from on the menu.

We would not hesitate to return to a Bed of Roses if we are in the area again.

Our first trip to tour Asheville was enhanced by the delightful & conveniently located stay at Bed of Roses. Our room was comfortable & clean & loved the jetted garden tub! Breakfast was perfect & Emily was extremely helpful giving us directions & tips on things to see and do. The home is beautiful & tastefully decorated & is very near the historic district. It only took 5 mins to walk to the tour bus station & 10 to get to the heart of Asheville. We loved our stay & want to return!

Room Tip: Oliver Davis room is great for those wanting a B&B experience on a budget. Just know that the stairway leading to the door of the room is VERY narrow & hairpin turns half way through. So if this isn't an issue for you, bring small luggage or back packs only.

Another trip advisor great find. Emily & Bill are very warm and go out of their way to ensure a great stay. The house was classic Victorian. The turret room was lovely with a jetted tub, fridge and sitting room. The room was very comfortable. My husband & I had a great visit. It was our first B & B experience and offered so much more than a hotel room stay. Breakfast was nothing short of amazing both mornings. The location is a short walk to downtown and very central. We had a wonderful stay and will be back.

Thank you for sharing your experience here at A Bed of Roses. We just love hearing that first-time B&B goers had a wonderful time and want to come back. That's why we love being innkeepers!

My wife and I spent the first two days of our honeymoon at a Bed of Roses. The BB is located in the Montford district about a ten minute walk from downtown. The neighborhood is quiet and features many craftsman style homes with beautiful gardens. It is a pleasure just to walk through on the way to or from downtown. The BB is also easy to find and convenient to I-240. Parking was easy to find.

Breakfast, both mornings was excellent/filling and the service was superb. We stayed in the spacious Revell Room which was nicely decorated and has a real two person bath. The house has a couple of cats which were always very friendly.

We stayed on Sunday night during Memorial Day weekend in the Revell (?) room (we waited until the last minute to find a place and everything was booked). The house was very clean and well maintained with charming/sweet fixtures and amenities. Our room had a large whirpool tub (which we LOVED!) and matching robes. Our hosts, Bill and Emily were very, very sweet and accommodating! The breakfast was quite filling and wonderful.. Emily even made fresh cookies throughout the day. The house is in a residential district but only about a 10 minute walk downtown; which we really enjoyed because there was great scenery and beautiful weather. My only complaint is that $170 seems a bit steep for one night, especially a Sunday but I realize that they have to make a living. All in all, we were sad to leave so soon and when we return to Asheville, we will stay at A Bed of Roses!
