We loved staying here! We were upgraded to a suite, and felt that we could spread out and relax! The on-site manager was super helpful with restaurant recommendations, directions, and maps, and the BREAKFASTS were gourmet and delicious every morning. We especially enjoyed the wine and cheese happy hours each evening, and the Princess Anne has gorgeous patios and porches where we happily relaxed! We will go back again!

Room Tip: The top floor is quietest, and the elevator is a real trip! (vintage)

We picked this B & B for what we saw on line. It looked good and had good ratings from others. We had no idea how great this place was. We got there, and the first words out of John's mouth was we have given you an upgrade to a larger room. Talk about starting out on the right foot! John gave us directions, restaurant suggestions, even recommendations for shoe inserts! They had Wine and cheese every afternoon at 5, which was delightful, and beautiful healthy breakfasts. We would go back again in a heartbeat. Next time I am in Asheville I will be staying here!

Room Tip: We ended up with suites that were roomy relaxing and comfortable.

The Princess Anne has been our hotel of choice for our November anniversary for the past 4 years and has never disappointed. Within walking distance of downtown Asheville yet in a quiet residential neighborhood, this place is a real find. Consider where else you can get 3 breakfast choices, nightly wine and appetizers and super clean, quiet rooms for a reasonable price. The staff are friendly, helpful and very genuine people. Just fun to talk to ! In every way, a special place. We look forward to returning again this November.

Room Tip: Book early for the deluxe rooms. There aren't many of them and they sell out early. Unless you...

Check in was a breeze at this beautiful hotel. They were setting up the wine and appetizers when we got there. What a treat--and this was not cheap wine and crackers. Four different wines to choose from, and a variety of items for snacking --we could have skipped dinner! They have many different sitting areas, inside and outside, so it was easy to relax and enjoy the evening. Rooms are large and beds very comfortable. They even had bottles of wine in the rooms for purchase, which I thought was a nice touch! Breakfast had 3 choices, and there was fresh squeezed orange juice. We had the omelets , and they were delicious! This charming historical hotel is a gem!

My wife and I were visiting Asheville on vacation in April 2014. This was absolutely the perfect hotel for a visit to the city. It is in a quiet residential neighborhood where you would not expect to find a hotel. But it is close to downtown, and an exceptionally pleasant place to stay. It was for us the perfect mix of hotel and B&B. We got the personal care and attention of a B&B coupled with the freedom and atmosphere of a hotel.
The hotel has lots of character, with wood floors throughout, but is modern in its amenities. It has clearly been lovingly restored to give the feel of an older hotel.
We were upgraded to a suite - it felt like a two-room apartment. And was far more affordable than other hotels that we checked out before our visit to the city.

Kudos to the owners for the care and attention to style and comfort. I would always stay here on any return to the city!

This is a beautifully restored historical building and everything in it is first-rate. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are clean and up-dated, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and the we ruined our dinner at happy hour both nights we were there. We will never stay anywhere else should we visit Asheville again. I am the type who is much more likely to write a bad review when I am unhappy with something, so believe me when I say you will not be disappointed if you stay here.

In a town full of chain options it is so nice to find a hotel like this one. Historic and immaculate, it has lovely outdoor and community lounge areas, happy hour and breakfast. Helpful, friendly staff too. The location is a bit removed from the hubbub of downtown but not far. We will visit again!

Room Tip: All rooms are suites. The only difference is size. We had one of the smaller ones and it was perfect...
