Carolina Bed & Breakfast

Overall our trip to the Carolina B&B was fantastic! We arrived very late on a friday evening and James and Susan had conveniently left a key and directions on the back porch for us. We were also greeted in our room by a delicious dessert. Throughout our whole stay our hosts were wonderfully accommodating and very helpful. James and Susan were the perfect hosts providing conversation and advice whenever needed! The food was delicious as well... the breakfast in the morning (especially the salmon and egg dish) was excellent! The wine and hor d'oeuvres in the evening were wonderful and it was nice to be able to chat with the other guests. The cookies available downstairs were quite tasty as well! I would highly recommend the Carolina B&B to anyone and I would definitely return.

My husband and 7 other members of our extended family decended on the Carolina B&B on a cool rainy afternoon in May. Our host, James, met us at the door and immediately made us feel right at home. From that moment until we left, two days later, our every need was met in a most gracious manner. From what we had read about the inn, we were expecting the delicious breakfasts, but we were completely amazed at the homemade hors d'oeuvres and wine that was served from 5:30-6:30 in the afternoon. There was always coffee, hot tea and cold drinks available as well as homemade snacks. I can not think of a single complaint that I would make about this lovely place. Our family would certainly like to make another trip to this B&B in the future. James and Susan have found just the right blend of being helpful without being intrusive.

The Carolina B&B is meticulously clean and beautifully restored to an arts and crafts era home. The proprietors are gracious, helpful and focused in every way on the guest experience. We would be remiss if we didn't mention the scrumptious food made from fresh local ingredients prepared masterfully.

Room Tip: Generous rooms located on a quiet street

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here 3 nights last week. James and Susan Murray run a great Inn! From the wine and great hors d ouvres from 5:30 to 6:30 to the comfortable room topped off with breakfast menus that are truly out of this world!

This is the finest B&B we have ever stayed in and recommend it without reservation.

Room Tip: All rooms appeared well done. We were in Cardinal

My husband and I wanted to be able to walk into downtown Asheville for a the WordFest literary festival, and the Carolina is the perfect distance for that. It's in a quiet neighborhood, is beautifully decorated, and has very comfortable beds. The room was large, with a separate dressing area. Loved the gourmet breakfasts (though not low calorie!) and helpful hosts. James gave us directions for the next leg of our trip. The inn has a front and back porch for relaxing. Though it was a bit more than we usually pay, we were glad we chose it. One of the best B&Bs we've stayed in.

What a great B&B! I spent three night at the Carolina Bed and Breakfast and I must say, this was much better than staying at a hotel. I am glad that I trusted all of the other "excellent" reviewers, because they were all right! The food was delicious, the rooms were great, and the hosts did an amazing job making me feel right at home. If you are planning at trip to Asheville, do not pass this one up!
