Most everyone talks about how exceptional their stay was and how wonderful the house host were.
Yes, all of the above and below is true.
Also, true is all that you get for the price they charge. I spent a couple hours reading reviews and looking at the cost of many B & B's in Asheville. You will not be disapointed with all that you receive, not to mention how much they enjoy shareing their home with you and other guest. We enjoyed The Hummingbird room for our two nights. Book it now and begin to realize now all you have do is show up at the front door and your hospitally begins with many smiles.

Room Tip: We enjoyed The Hummingbird room. Quieter room with NO rooms beside you.

My husband and I just returned from our relaxing weekend getaway. This was my fist time away from our one year old son and we could not have picked a better place. I've been telling my friends all about it ever since returned.
James and Susan have a genuine desire to make your stay memorable and pleasurable. They provide a beautiful stress free environment and are eager to suggest and even help you plan ideas for your stay. For instance, James helped us with bike routes, hiking tails (even let us borrow his daypack), and made our dinner reservation for us. Susan is a excellent cook. Her creations were all made from scratch and extremely fresh, bursting with flavor...something even Julia Child would swoon over ;)
My husband and I are not the typical B&B type, and we definitely would not consider ourselves "foodies," we'd almost prefer back country camping more, but we will be coming back. Our stay was absolutely fabulous and we feel as though we have made new friends. James and Susan were a true delight and the proximity to downtown allowed for a perfect walk.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Robins Nest room. It was quiet and tucked away in its own corner of the house. Open windows were an excellent way to wake up with the birds.

Just completed a very relaxing weekend at the Carolina B&B. Stayed in the separate Cottage and enjoyed two great nights of sleep and plenty of room to stretch out. The breakfasts and evening hors d'oeuvres (with wine) are expertly prepared and all dietary requests are carefully met. The main house has many comfortable areas to relax and socialize with the other guests, which is great since everybody is in such a good mood and eager to talk about their experiences around the area.

James and Susan discreetly and expertly take care of all arrangements and requests for information, directions, and advice. It's a relatively easy, somewhat uphill walk to part of downtown (a leisurely 18-20 mins) so save yourself the nightmare of trolling for parking (especially on weekend nights) and let James draw you a map or use Google walking directions.

Just can't imagine a nicer way to spend a few nights in the area. We are already looking forward to returning soon.

We really landed on our feet. We stayed for 3 nights and was probably my favorite accomodation during my 2 week stay in the south east. The rooms are immaculate and beautifully decorated. The breakfasts were interesting and different every day. The welcome was warm and I loved the idea of having a chance to have a drink with other guests after our day out and socialise with them if we had time. James and Susan had plenty of information for us about great walks and things to do around Asheville. It was walking distance into Asheville and very cheap to get taxi's back after our dinner out. Asheville is a great town and I would love to come back.

Beautiful home with architectural character in a great location. Furnishings and decor excellent. Landscaping gorgeous and well maintained. Breakfasts were unique and delicious. Generally, attention to detail is superlative in every aspect.

From welcome to check-out, Susan and James were relaxed, professional, attentive but not overly intrusive, helpful with local knowledge of area attractions and activities and generally terrific hosts.
