“5-Star B & B”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2007

My wife and I stayed in this lovely bed and breakfast for three nights recently. Couldn't have enjoyed it more. Beautiful old (but completely refurbished) house in nice neighborhood within walking distance from the heart of Asheville. We stayed in the Lion's Den, which was one of the nicest rooms. Spacious, comfortable, and extremely well furnished.
Only one word for the staff -- wonderful. And the breakfasts were to die for; different menu each day, and every course was delicious.
The concierge was very pleasant and extremely helpful with dining and sightseeing recommendations, most of which we followed (and enjoyed a great deal).
We'd go back there in a heartbeat. Would have given it six stars if possble
We highly recommend this B & B.

We immensely enjoyed our three night stay At Cumberland Falls B&B. The nicely landscaped yard invites you into the well decorated and very clean B&B. Two different types of home-baked goodies await guests in the reception area, where you are greeted by Heather, the concierge. Heather takes you on a tour of the house and gives you a detailed review of safety and fire procedures for your room. We stayed in the Sunshine Room, which is located at the top of the house. It’s a bright, cheerful room and comfortable for two. Relaxing in the room’s Jacuzzi tub is a treat, especially after a day of hiking in Chimney Rock Park.

Heather, Gary and Patti are very gracious hosts, who have thought of every detail to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. They provide helpful recommendations for activities and dining. Their printed, detailed driving directions certainly helped us get to our day’s destinations.

The cooked breakfasts and baked goods are exceptionally tasty. Menu items changed daily. Each night, while snug in our bed, visions of breakfast danced in our heads – hot muffins, fresh fruit, fluffy pancakes, summer squash frittata, creamy grits, Belgian waffles with whipped cream.

We look forward to returning to At Cumberland Falls B&B.

Magnificentl refurbished Victorian home - clean, spacious accommodations. Very comfortable beds. Romantic fireplace in the bedroom. Pretty landscaped gardens and off-road parking

Delightful host - most friendly and full of useful information - especially about downtown restaurants and not-easily-researched places for photography and hiking. Delicious three course gourmet breakfasts. The maple pecan bacon was 'to die for."

Can't ask for anything more.

A solid four stars.

My husband and I were in severe need of a relaxing, restful vacation, and it sure started with Cumberland Falls! We arrived to smiling faces, luxury Turkish linens, a soothing waterfall, and delicious, homemade treats! Gary, Patti, and Heather were around when you needed anything but also provided privacy and free reign around the beautiful house for a perfect balance! And the breakfasts, well, you better just go ahead a make your reservations! We stayed three nights in the Garden Vista Suite and wished it were a week longer! I can't say enough wonderful things about Cumberland Falls B&B! We will be back!

My husband and I needed a getaway and chose Asheville. Online the Cumberland Falls Inn looked cozy and perfect. It had been a very stressful year and we needed peace and quiet. I spoke with Patti by phone and immediately knew we had chosen wisely. I didn't even bother researching Asheville because I could tell that Patti, Gary and Heather would help guide our plans. The Inn was beautiful. Very homey and so clean you could eat off of the bathroom floors. The breakfasts were scrumptious. They make a baked egg dish that is to die for. We loved our room, the Natural Mystic. The jacuzzi was just what we needed. We were supposed to stay for 8 nights but, sadly, our stay was cut short after 4 days due to an emergency back home. I was a complete wreck due to this turn of events, but the way we were treated at CF's really helped in an otherwise painful situation. The morning that we had to leave, Gary gave me a huge hug (making me cry even more) and he handed us bagged lunches for our trip home. I get choked up just thinking about it. I wish we could have stayed longer but the days we had there were ideal. Heather/Patti... I'm sorry we didn't get to say goodbye.

A bit of a schlep from downtown Asheville (okay, not much more than a fifteen-minute walk), but a great place to come back to at the end of each day. Well worth investigating if you're in the area, with a super-nice and helpful staff, wireless internet that always worked (not always the case at B&Bs, we've discovered), and big rooms. A much more relaxing and restful option than a traditional hotel/motel.
