This is one of the most beautiful B&B's in Asheville. We stayed in the Lion's Den room. Don't let the lack of a Jacuzzi put you off from staying in this room! The views of the front lawn were beautiful and the claw foot tub and shower combo was roomy and easy to get in and out of. The room has a bay window overlooking the front lawn and let in plenty of sunlight. It also has a wood burning fireplace that casts a romantic glow over the room at night. The breakfasts were incredible and delicious and our hosts were friendly and attentive. It was like coming home. You will be amazed at the beautiful gardens in the back of the house... Koi fish pond and waterfalls, flowers galore... just incredible.

Room Tip: Don't skip the Lion's Den room due to the lack of a Jacuzzi, it's a wonderful room.

Blessedly, we did not know that one of this couple was an "executive chef" because we would have been under "performance duress." So happy that we seemed to have pulled off a good review of our breakfasts with no disappointment. Whew!

Delighted to see that you enjoyed my gardens and the Koi pond. That running water seems to provide a source of peace and serenity and folks love spending time out there at day's end.
You all were a delight and sincerely hope that when headed to Asheville again, you all & our Lion's Den can reconnect. We so enjoyed talking with you both and with Mars Hill being pretty close, we look forward to seeing you both again.

On our recent trip to the SE USA, we decided on a B&B as a treat for our stay in Asheville. We were not sorry! The beautiful old home and gardens are close to the tourist attractions. The breakfasts are so plentiful and delicious that you will not need lunch. We stayed 2 nights in the Victorian Parlor. The bed was comfy, the temperature perfect, and there is a fireplace and spa-style tub (neither of which we used.) The greatest asset here is your host, Gary. He is like having your own concierge for your stay. He volunteers occasionally at the Visitor's Center and is very knowledgeable about eateries, activities, etc. etc. He saved us a headache at the Biltmore with his sound advice. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Breakfast is served at 9 AM, which may be a little late for "early starters" but it is so convivial and delicious that it is worth it. Also, your hosts will make a little "to go" breakfast for you if you opt out of it. Met some delightful fellow guests at breakfast and learned a lot about the community and activities that way.

Glad to have helped your stay and know that Gary's concierge efforts added to your fullest enjoyment of Asheville. We are delighted you would return to our inn "in a heartbeat" and we were so excited that you all stayed to enjoy the breakfast . Nice you could experience the always interesting, usually humorous and great beginning to the day that so often happens at the inn at the breakfast guest meeting. When we are treated to all that table laughter, we always know folks are having a good time and it is nice to be a part of starting a great day well. We have tried breakfast earlier but after nearly 16 years, it seems that the purpose of vacation is to kick back a bit.... Most folks don't want to rise before the sun to begin but we are happy to accommodate those who do with a continental take away breakfast.

My husband and I are from Jersey in the Channel Islands we were in the USA doing a Roadtrip from Washington DC to Atlanta, we normally stay in hotels so this was a first for us. What a great place and what a first time experience staying here was.

This is a lovely property, the house and gardens are beautiful. We stayed in the Garden Vista room overlooking the garden.

The hosts Patti and Gary are wonderful people and could not do enough to make sure all their guests have a great time, nothing was too much trouble.

Breakfast is a time when all the guests get to meet each other, sit around the table and swap stories and experiences. What a great idea as you wouldn't get to see any of the other guests as everyone doing there own thing through the day. The food was great.

Thanks Patti & Gary we have taken home some wonderful memories.

Am so glad to hear from you all and that you are home safe and sound. Clearly, we all had a wonderful time and I look so forward to hearing more about the Channel Islands. Hosting you all was a clear delight and we are always happy to aid in any way we can to create the best guest experience. You were so kind to say we achieved this mission and we look forward to seeing both of you again. We may even make it to the Channel Is. one day always being curious about the history of the area. Knew all the guests in house when you all were here were having a blast. We could hear and are always delighted to be part of the laughter and fun at the breakfast table.

Had a wonderful three-night stay at this B&B. Stayed in the Sunshine Room. I would only recommend this room for couples who know each other very well. The tub is open to the room and only a half-wall provides privacy to the commode. That said, it is a very nice space. It is aptly named, with three skylights and a large window providing lots of light.

Patti and Gary were absolutely great hosts. They provided an excellent breakfast (loved the fresh muffins!). They also went the extra mile on special requests. They made us feel like their genuine goal was to make sure we had an enjoyable time in the Asheville area.

Sunshine is privately located at the top of the house. It shares that floor with only the Daydream space. Both are artist loft types of environments beautifully decorated and offering great light-Sunshine offers the ancillary benefit of being the best bargain in the house and as a result is one of our most popular rooms in house.
We have taken care to describe the features of each room online-hopefully affording guests the best opportunity possible to determine if the physical elements of each room will prove a good match for their needs.

This couple was a joy to host. Very fun, completely a delight to talk to and we are happy to make more wonderful desserts and muffins for them anytime. We look forward to hosting their visits and making our home theirs anytime at all they head to Asheville.

This is a great place to stay when visiting Asheville. We had the beautiful Garden Vista room on the second floor. Great view of the garden, beautiful furnishings, lots of light. Gary and Patti are great hosts and serve a wonderful breakfast. When we needed to leave early they also packed a nice take along breakfast for us. They were extremely helpful with things to do around town. Enjoy!

This family from D.C. found our inn and we are so happy to have been able to host them. Traveling with their college age young adults (a complete joy & a credit to their parents displaying a rare courtesy and respect not always seen anymore) while also supplying a fun and nostalgic view to an age grouping we left behind a long time ago. Nadine-Cliff, I'm tickled you all liked Garden Vista. The view of those back gardens and waterfalls is also one of my favorites and the natural light in that room is uplifting I agree. You all are welcomed back any time and I sincerely hope to host you and the Fam any time Asheville is on your agenda. Be well and have an awesome summertime. Give the young ones our best.

My husband booked 2 nights at the "At Cumberland Falls Bed and Breakfast" in Asheville, NC for our anniversary. Lovely home, beautiful gardens with koi fish pond and water features and six marvelous rooms. Gracious hosts Patti & Gary and the concierge Leah made our stay very comfortable.

Wonderful aromas each morning as the three course breakfast was being prepared. The three courses were warm muffins with juice & coffee, a fruit plate and a main breakfast entree. One morning we ate on the sun porch with another couple and the next morning we tried the main dining room. Breakfast was served at 9 AM and took about an hour. Our favorite dish was the sweet & spicy bacon and the apple stuffed French Croissant!

Our room "Day Dream" was on the 3rd floor in the back, so we could open our window at night to hear the water feature. Skylights, interesting nooks & crannies, whirlpool tub, gas fireplace, ceiling fan, hairdryer, queen bed with down comforter & pillows, wall-mounted TV, very good internet connection, bathrobe to use during our stay, soap, shampoo, ironing board & iron, fire escape ladder, off-street parking and a small kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker.

Fresh homemade cookie every afternoon, a pod coffee maker and a hot tea pot were available in the dining room and chocolates in the living room and on the landing of the 2nd floor.

Now, the quilted maple - much of the wood trim on the staircase and around the fireplace in the living room are done in the rare quilted maple. Have Gary tell the story!

Thanks Patti, Gary & Leah for making our anniversary weekend so special!

Room Tip: Very quiet residential neighborhood. Close to downtown Asheville, restaurants and about 15 minutes t...

We are so happy to see your review and know that your very special anniversary celebration was all that you hoped it would be. That was our mission statement for sure. The garden here at the inn is a special passion of mine and we know we've hit the mark when guests chose to spend some of their premium vacation time enjoying the "Koi welcoming committee" and the waterfall-garden area. Those crazy Koi have been so socialized by guests-they love them.

We spent 4 nights in Asheville this past April for spring break and chose At Cumberland Falls based on all the great reviews. We were happy to see that the reviews were right on. The location was perfect, right in the middle of the historic area and within easy walking distance of downtown. It is worth your time to do a nice stroll around the area and see the historic homes in the area. Gary and Patty have a stocked fridge (honor system) with cold drinks. There's access to coffee, tea or hot chocolate all day, and a great freshly baked treat every afternoon. I can't decide if I liked the lavender sugar cookies or the chocolate chip cookies best. Good filling breakfast. I learned the hard way to save my muffin for a late morning snack so I could save room for the next 2 courses! My favorites were the sweet/spicy bacon, the baked pears and every morning's surprise muffins. We stayed in the 2 attic rooms for 2 nights apiece. Both were very nice and had jacuzzi tubs, but I liked the Daydream better because you got a little kitchenette and a small nook where I sat, reading or working in the mornings. Also, just be aware that with the Sunshine Room, there isn't a closed off bathroom. Rather, there's a 3/4 wall that hides the toilet away. But all in all, a great experience.

You all were like having my own around. We so enjoyed you. I told you when I met you Sun that you were aptly named-a bright light. I am delighted you liked those Fairy Cakes. That 's the sugar cookie with the lavender. Those are a big favorite around here. We so appreciate that you took your time to write review and delighted that you view both us and our home in such esteem. You all are welcome back to our home anytime and will always be a welcome addition at the breakfast table. Meanwhile, I will be thinking up more surprise muffins for you and Steven.
Be well and have a safe, happy summertime!
