The grounds At Cumberland Falls Bed and Breakfast Inn are as lovely as shown.
Our hosts Gary and Patti are equally as lovely in their attentiveness and attention
to detail. The delicious breakfasts were a great start to our western North Carolina
mountain days - where we enjoyed nearby FABULOUS hiking, mountain biking, and zip-lining.
Definitely an Inn to return to!!

We are delighted with your kind responses and glad you had such a grand time in the places Gary and I love best-the natural beauty of Western North Carolina.
It seems that our breakfasts were well received and provided all the energy your group needed to "go out there and really experience the allure of this part of Asheville." We are always happy to contribute to family time and sincerely enjoyed hosting yours. Come and see us again. Your entire family was a delight and are always welcome!

We booked the Daydream room and the room was perfect for a couples getaway. First, the room is located in the attic of the house and is probably a little small but really well organized so you never feel short of space. There is a jacuzzi which doubles as a shower in the room which gives it a romantic feel. There is also a small den with a small mattress which is perfect for sipping some wine at the end of the day. The ceiling is low/slanted (as this is a converted attic) and navigation can be a challenge if a person is a little tall but for us this gave us a cozy feeling. Also, there is a lot of sun that comes through the room due to the multiple windows and skylight in the room. Second, the breakfast is good and I was impressed by how Gary and Patti addressed everyone by name (shows the touch of southern hospitality!) The first serving was one with fruits and the second serving had the main breakfast. While we felt there was a lot of detail put into the breakfast and the service, it would have been better if there was an option to customize the order (like made-to-order eggs etc.) Finally, the location of the B&B was fantastic as it was very central and it was an easy walk to downtown Asheville. Highly recommended if you want a quiet/romantic place to getaway in a scenic area.

That you clearly found the magic of our Daydream Room is delightful. We're so glad for that. The angular shape of the room, Soft, natural light, it's cozy nook space- perfect for providing just the right atmosphere for sharing a romantic bottle of wine- and of course, the jacuzzi is a very popular room choice at the inn.
Our guests seem well pleased by our freshly prepared breakfasts and note often that an alarm clock here at the inn would never be needed due to aroma of piping hot muffins or bacon permeating the house. There is universal agreement that beats an alarm clock. hands down.
While we pride ourselves on our breakfasts, seeking only fresh ingredients and home made with care and our guests absolute enjoyment of them for 16 years.
Not having a commercial kitchen, most of our guests understand it is really not feasible to custom make 12 different breakfasts at a time.
Southern hospitality is alive at our inn and one of the joys of a small inn is that all our guests are known by name and we truly strive to see that each has a stellar experience. We are so happy that you noticed that and enjoyed it all so much.

My wife and I stayed four nights at Cumberland Falls B&B, and we'd stay there again. Gary and Patti were kind and gracious hosts, and trusted advisors for all things Asheville. Their love of Asheville and region is evident, and for good reason. Inside and out CF B&B is exactly what the vast majority of reviewers describe, and its location provides ready access to downtown Asheville -- an easy 20 minute walk or a very short drive. In short, CF B&B is a great base to enjoy Asheville's charms. As an aside, Gary encouraged us to visit DuPont State Forest for its hiking, waterfalls and natural beauty; that was a home run.

We are always grateful to receive such kind comments and we so appreciate your time in writing this review. Asheville is a special place and it's one of the best parts to share that with others. We,re tickled you found Dupont Forest as enchanting an experience as we do. We were happy to have met you all, honored to have hosted your visit and looking forward to the next one. Our nearby location to downtown you mentioned is so enjoyed by our guests functioning as a welcome relief to those having been in the car for a long time. Hope you little Virginian's find your way back to us soon. You will always be a welcome sight! Be well and have a wonderful summertime 2014.

We are repeat visitors to this wonderful B and B. The property is lovely and located in the historic Montford area near attractions and restaurants. We like the natural mystic room, but every room is attractive in its own way. The living room, dining room, porch and sunroom open to all guests are comfortable and inviting. Innkeepers Patti and Gary are the type of people who should have a B and B--kind, helpful and genuinely interested in caring for their guests. Plus, the breakfasts are wonderful. Staying here is like going to visit your best friends. We are looking forward to our next visit already!

My 19 y.o. daughter and I decided on a last minute trip to Asheville after some surgery. I cannot imagine a better medicine than we found with Patti and Gary! They accommodated our needs without hesitation and with graciousness. The gardens are gorgeous! The rooms are very comfortable and impeccably clean and well maintained. My daughter thought they had hired a professional chef for the breakfasts given the look and taste of the food. Patti and Gary are wonderful hosts--there with ready help and advice as needed without being in any way "too" present. We stayed in the Day Dreamer room which is perfect for those who like comfy and cozy spaces. The dormer window with the futon couch was my favorite reading spot in the room for the weekend. The bed was fabulous and the Jacuzzi most welcome after a long day of exploring Asheville. I started each day around 7 a.m. on the front porch with a book and a nice cup of coffee which, to me, is the definition of heaven! I will be back with my husband and perhaps even for a get away just for me.

Room Tip: I loved the Day Dreamer room but if someone is very tall, the dormers may be problematic in the sitt...

It is a personal joy to me to facilitate any visitation between Mom and her daughter and this was no exception! We are delighted you found our inn and happy that your lovely girl is on her way to complete health-and best yet that you felt happy, comfortable and that our inn provided just what the Dr. ordered. It was so kind of you to send us this wonderful note and we look forward to hosting you all in the future. Have a grand summertime Deb and we'll always be glad to see you again. When we were in discussion about your visit and talking about the best foods for your daughter, I was chuckling to myself at the similarity of Mother's all over the world. The age is irrelevant-they are always our kids!

Three of us decided to drive from Illinois to see the Biltmore mansion and gardens. I am a fan of B&Bs, and volunteered to scout the area nearby to see if there were any good options. (Staying on the estate itself was pricey, and cut us off from easily exploring other attractions.)

There were dozens of possibilities.

I zeroed in on the historic district, which is technically within walking distance of downtown Asheville, if you're a walker. After checking and rejecting five or six possibilities, I came across Cumberland Falls, which sounded perfect. And it pretty much was.

Gary was warm and welcoming on the phone, explaining the prices and paperwork. When we arrived, after a longer than expected trek through the mountains, he carried our bags inside. From the vibrant hostas on the walkway to the Mother's Day bouquet on the table, we felt, if not family, immediately-close personal friends.

Some other reviewer, who apparently is unfamiliar with the B&B concept, griped that they had to share their table with strangers. I always thought meeting new people and sharing stories was part of the fun. We were a little disappointed to have the place to ourselves. But that became a plus because Gary let us wander through the whole house and choose the rooms we preferred. Cumberland Falls is one of the few places I've stayed, including hotels, where the real-life accommodations were better than it looked online.

Two of us ended up on the third floor, which felt like an airy treehouse. My friend's only regret is that she would have preferred a shower; I was fine with the Jacuzzi arrangement. (Since the third member of the group was in the Lion's Den, and there was no one else around, the two of them traded shower time anyway.)

Beyond Biltmore, we were surprised to find so many things to do in Asheville, especially when Patti suggested we might enjoy the LaZoom trolley tour. Fairly adventurous eaters, we took most of our hosts' dinner suggestions, and found them stellar -- particularly Nine Mile, the Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant around the corner, and Limone's, a California-Mexican fusion bistro where the written menu does no justice to the food. We wouldn't have noticed either of them if Gary hadn't brought them to our attention.

Even though we extended our stay by an extra day, we could have used more time. A minor gripe, if you want to call it a gripe, is that three days of Gary's sit-down service and lavish breakfasts would have left me with even more weight to work off now that I'm home. In the morning, I'm a piece-of-cheese girl, and this was like Christmas brunch for three days straight. Wish I could say I compensated by skipping lunch, but that would be a lie.

Once I drop this extra three pounds, I'd be happy to return to Asheville and see all the things we missed. Zip-lining, anyone? Art galleries? And if any of our friends go, I will suggest they check out the Cumberland Falls Bed and Breakfast Inn.

We read you kind review thrilled that you girls had such a grand time. Ladies, we thoroughly enjoyed pampering you all and your fun, adventure driven spirit made it easy to do. Gary says, he is ready with the stove on to cook up your "piece of cheese" Terri so bring it on. We have a whole new itinerary for you all and it does include zip lining so get on back to Asheville. We have lived here for a long time and really enjoy sharing this area, blessed with so many options-hence wide range appeal, to others. While Gary is cooking your cheese piece, I am booking zip line tour and routing your "art gallery crawl so -Game on! I can hear Pat/Pat screaming now! You ladies were very fun and we look forward to hosting your next trip any time Asheville is on the agenda.

This is one of the most beautiful B&B's in Asheville. We stayed in the Lion's Den room. Don't let the lack of a Jacuzzi put you off from staying in this room! The views of the front lawn were beautiful and the claw foot tub and shower combo was roomy and easy to get in and out of. The room has a bay window overlooking the front lawn and let in plenty of sunlight. It also has a wood burning fireplace that casts a romantic glow over the room at night. The breakfasts were incredible and delicious and our hosts were friendly and attentive. It was like coming home. You will be amazed at the beautiful gardens in the back of the house... Koi fish pond and waterfalls, flowers galore... just incredible.

Room Tip: Don't skip the Lion's Den room due to the lack of a Jacuzzi, it's a wonderful room.

Blessedly, we did not know that one of this couple was an "executive chef" because we would have been under "performance duress." So happy that we seemed to have pulled off a good review of our breakfasts with no disappointment. Whew!

Delighted to see that you enjoyed my gardens and the Koi pond. That running water seems to provide a source of peace and serenity and folks love spending time out there at day's end.
You all were a delight and sincerely hope that when headed to Asheville again, you all & our Lion's Den can reconnect. We so enjoyed talking with you both and with Mars Hill being pretty close, we look forward to seeing you both again.
