We made the trip to Asheville to see the Biltmore House candle light tour. Upon the recommendation of a co worker we chose the top floor of this wonderful bed and breakfast inn. The owners were wonderful, the accommodations were great. I especially liked the shower, and the two breakfast meals were outstanding. We had a wonderful time.

Room Tip: The top floor is spacious, and you have your own bathroom tub and shower. You also have 2 TV's.

This is our second visit to Asheville and the Lion and the Rose B&B. There was so much to see and do when we were here last year we decided to revisit the area. The choice of where to stay was a no-brainer. The Lion and the Rose is such a beautiful B&B we never considered anything else. Jim and Linda are the perfect hosts and welcomed us back as old friends. We stayed in the same room as last year, the Holger-Nielson room which was just the right size for the 2 of us. The B&B is always spotless and the bathroom is updated and modern while still looking like it fits in perfectly with the rest of the house. There is off-street parking which is nice and the location is good. Downtown Asheville is within walking distance if you are even marginally fit. The Civic Center is about a mile away and while we drove to dinner downtown in the evenings, we walked downtown and back every day with no problems. The B&B is also conveniently near the Chamber of Commerce where you pick up the trolly tours. I cannot recommend this B&B highly enough. Every day Jim prepared the most delicious and filling gourmet breakfasts and Linda brought them to our table which by the way was set with china, crystal and lovely silverware. You are also surrounded by beautiful antiques no matter where you are in this B&B. If you have never stayed at a B&B and want to try one, I HEARTILY recommend the Lion and the Rose! We will return!

Unfortunately, I was only able to stay one night at the Lion and the Rose but will most definitely plan a longer stay in the future. Lovely, charming house and you feel special as soon as you walk through the doors and are greeted by the owners. I highly recommend the Craig-Toms Suite which is entire upper floor of the house. Breakfast was excellent and nice socialization with the other guests. Very romantic environment for couples. Lovely landscaped grounds and good location as near many of the tourist hotspots. Cannot wait to go back.

This is a perfect place to stay if you want to be within walking distance of downtown Asheville, and enjoy wonderful local hospitality! The owners were super friendly and the house is beautifully kept. The room was wonderful (just as pictured on the website), the bed super comfy, and the breakfast delicious. The overall feeling of The Lion and The Rose was that of RELAXATION! Can't wait to go back...!

Our stay at the Lion and the Rose could not have been better. The house is handsome, and filled with beautiful furniture, art and objects. Although old, it has all of the modern conveniences you could need. The house is in a lovely neighborhood, very near downtown and yet quiet and peaceful. Jim and Linda are gracious and very helpful hosts, and soon made us feel as if we had known them for a long time. Asheville is a great place to visit and this is the place to stay.

We stayed for 2 nights in late October. Our room was beautiful and very spacious. The bedding was superb. Coffee was delivered to your room each morning before breakfast. Breakfast was outstanding. The breakfast table was decorated with a lovely fall theme and the house was gorgeous inside and out. The hosts made us feel very welcomed. I would definitely return and highly recommend The Lion and The Rose.

We truly enjoyed staying at the Lion and the Rose B & B this fall. They owners think of everything such as comfortable robes, beautifully appointed rooms, snack and drinks, coffee or tea at your door while you get ready to come downstairs for breakfast, and much more. They were so helpful with choosing places to go and restaurants to try. My only two complaints would be that they need more hangers in the closets and the breakfasts were too heavy. I think I would have preferred a heavy choice and a light choice or maybe a list of what would be served and you could check what you wanted. I felt that we threw away too much food.

Room Tip: The room on the second floor with the daybed is great for three people and there is an adjoining roo...
