“Beautiful Home”
Reviewed 25 January 2014 via mobile

We had a wonderful stay at The Lion and Rose. The home was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Our room, bed and bathroom were very comfortable. The innkeepers, staff and other guests were easy going and fun to meet. We enjoyed eating a delicious breakfast with the other guest and hearing stories about the home and area. We look forward to returning- especially after hearing how Halloween is celebrated-!

The Lion and the Rose is a beautiful Bed and Breakfast! It was my husband's first experience in a bed and breakfast and it couldn't have been better. Jim and Linda have thought of every detail, above and beyond, to make you feel at home. The house is a nice walk to downtown, with close access to the interstate and a very short drive to Biltmore. The breakfasts were amazing and Jim has wonderful recommendations for restaurants for dinner. It was a perfect weekend and we are talking about our next stay at The Lion and The Rose!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautiful, there are no bad rooms!

My husband and I just spent this past weekend at The Lion and Rose Bed & Breakfast. We could not have been any happier! We arrived rater late due to a wreck on the highway, but the owners could not have been any more understanding. They greeted us at the door, gave us the grand tour, and offered us dinner advise. You are allowed to come and go as you please, which is wonderful! This B&B I swear has everything you could ever need! They have a pantry which is stocked with soda, water, tea, coffee, and snacks. They have maps of the area, a binder full of restaurant recommendations (which go into great detail). Everything from toothpaste to Alka-Seltzer. If you need something extra to do, they have a large selection of Books and Dvd's. Our room was the Marion Hall, which has its own fire place, and a small sitting area with a tv. Which is wonderful if, one person wants to go to bed and the other wants to watch some TV. This is probably a bit silly, but made me love the place more, they have a soap dispenser in your bathroom! Now if you ever travel anywhere, you know they only have bars of soap to wash your hands. Not this place! There are so many little details! The location is great, if you chose you can walk to some great little shops and restaurants. Other wise it's maybe a 5 minute car ride. We really enjoyed the coffee dropped off at our door in the morning, and the breakfast was delish! It's not your typical bacon and eggs! If you don't like something or have any allergies they ask you, when you check in. Don't be afraid to tell them! We really couldn't be any happier and are planning our next visit!

Room Tip: The Marion Hall room! It's a large room with a TV sitting area and fireplace. It does not have a...

We spent two nights at the Lion and Rose and were delighted with the accommodations. Our hosts, Jim and Linda, were gracious and provided a wonderful breakfast each morning. I loved having a carafe of coffee delivered just outside the bedroom door in the morning. Great location and beautiful grounds that we will revisit in the spring.

Room Tip: All the rooms, even the ones facing the street, are quiet and beautiful.

This was our third stay at the Lion and Rose and enjoyed it as always. We stayed in the Marion Hall which is not only beautiful but spacious and has a working fireplace which adds to the ambiance. The innkeepers Jim and Linda are lovely people and have created a homey environment for their guests. Jim is a gourmet cook which makes breakfast a real treat! The neighborhood is historical and close to downtown Asheville. We will definitely be staying here on our future visits.

My husband & I & two of our friends spent New Year' Eve @ the Lion & the Rose. The location of the inn is just a short drive from downtown Asheville and the Biltmore. We were warmly greeted by Kelly & given a tour, including the pantry which was well stocked with snacks, home made cookies, bottled water, soft drinks, tea & coffee. Our rooms were cozy & comfortable & had wonderful pieces of art and furniture. We later met Jim & Linda Palmer who are very gracious hosts. Jim prepared an amazing breakfast. We forgot an article of clothing & Linda called us shortly after we left & offered to mail it to us. We had such a good time we found it hard to leave. We will definitely recommend Lion & the Rose to our friends.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our three-night stay at The Lion and the Rose B&B in Asheville, NC. The house is absolutely beautiful and our room, Marion Hall, was very elegant and comfortable. My husband wanted an area away from the bed where he could quietly watch football while I slept, and I wanted a functioning fireplace. Marion Hall provided both.

Hot coffee and tea were placed on a tray outside of our room each mornng prior to a scrumptious breakfast in the formal dining room--prepared by Jim. (Snacks/beverages were available in the butler's pantry 24/7.)

A drawer of toiletry items, including earplugs, was provided in the foyer in the event you forgot something. Loved the earplug offering!

Jim and Linda were very gracious hosts. We definately plan to return!

Room Tip: No tub in Marion Hall.
