“Another Great Place”

We love to stay at B&B and this one was really great. Located in a quiet part of Asheville
and still close to the downtown. Nice room, great breakfast, the owners Jim and Linda were
very helpful and they made us feel at home. Stop looking for another B&B , this is the place to be. Last but not least there is a balance between the price and the quality. If there will be another time in Asheville for us, we know where to stay.

From homemade breakfast (personalized), beautiful rooms, wonderful grounds, amazing porch, to choices for dinner our experience with Jim and Linda was spectacular! Would go back anytime I visited Asheville.

My husband and I enjoyed our time in Asheville and always stay at The Lion and The Rose since we had first visited on our honeymoon in 2004. We have been back twice now. Jim and Linda are excellent hosts. The breakfast is superb and the house is exquisite. It's a great place to stay as you meander around the mountains or downtown. We especially like relaxing on the front porch after a day of vacationing. It's like home away from home.

We went up for the weekend and were greeted by Cedric, the dog, while checking in! This is a gorgeous old home full of beautiful antiques. We loved our spacious room. The breakfasts were amazing and we had full access to a stocked pantry. The porch was a good place to sit and the grounds and gardens were beautiful. Our only complaint is that we only got to stay two nights! Highly recommend!

We arrived to be greeting by the hosts and shown around the property. A lovely big old home with comfortable sitting rooms and front porch. There are lights snacks available and homemade goodies to tide you over the afternoon with tea or other beverages, which was a savior for us as we had just ridden in on a motorcycle for 400 miles.

I chose the top floor because I book my rooms with the largest bath tub possible. The top floor is very large and comfortable with a new soaking tub and a separate shower. Bed was comfortable with nice linens.

The breakfast was homemade and excellent. A lot of effort put into the meal and the table settings were beautiful.

The hosts were very organized with recommendations and directions to restaurants and sites.

I would recommend this B&B for any occasion. Enjoy, we did.

Room Tip: We walked into town to go to the French restaurant. It was a great restaurant and lovely walk.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are all lovely and we relaxed on the cool porch overlooking the gorgeous gardens most late afternoons before walking into town for the evening of dining and music. Hosts recommendations were all spot on. The pantry for guests to make tea, get cold drinks is a really good facility. A lovely quiet neighborhood for a stay in Asheville.

Great place to stay close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Close to major highways. Very amiable, knowledgeable and accessible hosts. Walking distance (about a mile) from downtown, with an enjoyable restaurant in the neighborhood. Snack area available to guests, including coffee, drinks, snacks and HOME BAKED GOODIES. Port and sherry available for late night relaxation. Bedroom and bed very comfortable (if you enjoy firm and high mattress). Victorian décor a plus, "like window shopping in an antique store." Definitely not for children.
