The 1899 Wright Inn and Carriage House
Ranked #13 of 39 Asheville B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 18 June 2011

The Wright Inn Asheville offered us everything we could possibly need to make our time together special. Relaxing. Comfortable. Inviting. Friendly. Bob and Barbara went out of their way to help us. The food was exceptional. Our only reservation was the late breakfast since we are early risers and like to get our day started early to pack as much as we can in. Wish we could have been out by 9am each day..But in comparison with the good experiences at the Inn this really is a small detail.

Room Tip: Prepare for a late start every day!

We had a group of about 20 and took over this whole bed and breakfast. The attention to our needs was fabulous. Everything we asked for was promptly attended to. The owners of this house made you feel special. The house was impeccably clean and a very romantic setting. Breakfast was first class. Scrumptuous. A definite go back to place. I would highly recommend his place.

We spent two nights at the inn in the Wright Suite. It was very relaxing & quiet. We had our own, private breakfast porch, but we chose to eat breakfast in the dining area to enjoy the conversations with the other guests. The breakfasts were delicious: pineapple upside-down French toast and breakfast quiche. Scrumptious! And, the coffee just kept coming! Bob, Barbara & Shirley were fun to talk with; Shirley was very was helpful with travel info, as well. This was our second visit to the inn (our first was in 2001), & we enjoyed this visit even more than the last. They even let us take lots of pictures & measurements in preparation for building our own Victorian home. Needless to say, this was a very relaxing and informative trip for us. We will be going back again!

Room Tip: Most of the rooms were very spacious.

My husband and I wanted to explore Asheville. We knew we wanted to stay at a B&B. We made the "Wright" choice by staying here. The surroundings are peaceful and tranquil, the breakfasts fantastic.

When deciding where to explore each day, we were given detailed written directions on how to get to our destination. After exploring all day, either in the mountains or in town, we would spend time on the porch sitting on the wicker furniture.

At night in our room we could hear the night birds singing us to sleep. There will be no other choice in the future when visiting Asheville. The Wright Inn and Carriage House is the only place to stay.

We stayed at the Wright inn for our 15th wedding anniversary. We had the Wilkinson room, and it was lovely. The bed is super-comfy! The bathroom is a bit small, but what would you expect in a Victorian house? Very romantic. Bob was a fantastic host- just the right combination of being helpful without intruding. We felt like house guests rather than just paying customers. Highly recommend!
