Sharon and Gary do everything to make you feel at home, starting with the welcoming beverage on the covered back porch that overlooks their beautiful gardens. Wonderful house that has a very interesting history (be sure to ask) set in 40+ acres of amazing NC mountain country. It feels very remote, and yet it took us only 10-15 minutes to reach any place in Asheville. 3 miles of trails they have made on the property allow you to easily get away from it all and enjoy the mountain forest and stream, and there are frequent stopping places with the occasional bench, but typically a double swing seat thoughtfully equipped with cushions and bug spray! Breakfast was quite tasty and plentiful, and Sharon will definitely work with you to provide dishes to your liking. Bedroom was perhaps on the smaller side, but you also have a living room area that is quite spacious. If there was one caveat to add, the bed was perhaps a little too soft for one of us, but the hosts more than made up for that by being interesting and gracious people to spend time with.
Located on beautiful property surrounded by Sharon's beautiful gardens with trails to hike right on the property in the darling little town of Weaverville with easy access to Ashville this was the perfect place for us. We enjoyed getting to know Sharon and Gary...great hosts who were so helpful in everyway ...delicious breakfasts.
We will definitely return to this relaxing retreat.
It was a quick but memorable trip to Asheville. Sharon and Gary were the hostess with the mostess as the saying goes. Very accommodating and their location was perfect for all that we wanted to do. Their property is so gorgeous and I could have just stayed there and hiked all day. Sunny, the dog, was a wonderful tour guide on the trails. She would try to to take us off the beaten path on occasion but we knew better. Lol. Awakening each morning to the mountain cool breeze, the birds singing and the sound of the stream running through,I miss already. Will be back I hope and will definitely pass this gem onto my friends. So laid back and peaceful.
We enjoyed every minute of our visit and hope to return again . Gary and Sharon treat their guests like family. There is no other place as relaxing, or where you are made to feel so welcome. The food was delicious. We returned home renewed and ready for a happy summer. This is my all time favorite place to stay. It was a practically perfect trip to Asheville.
The location is on the side of a mountain with stunning views .From the back of the house you can easily hike to the top of a ridge, with your two guides sunny and shadow, where you can view across a valley to another mountain range. Sharon and Gary are two great family oriented ,hard working people who go out of their way to insure you have a great visit. The breakfasts were very good and their suggestions and directions for sight seeing were spot on. If your main concern is value for your dollar and you like large very friendly dogs you will have a great time.
