We were six for lunch. Our waiter was very helpful and friendly in suggesting what we might like to try for food and beer. The pulled pork was a little shy of taste; it needed the barbecue sauce. The fried chicken sandwich was very tasty. I tried a Shandy (beer and lemonade, which sounds like a strange combination but which was very refreshing on a day when the temperature hit 93). Prices are good.

You get gist from the title. If they didn’t have good sauce the BBQ would taste like nothing. Nothing against anyone working there, service was great the place is beautiful.

The service was great in getting our party of eleven in and out of there in about an hour. (lunch time).
Very friendly and helpful. Everyone at the table pretty much got a different dish and no one was unhappy.
I particularly liked the muscles and the white gravy.
Yum!!!

Thank Amy I

We walked here from our hotel , on the advice of our concierge , and the walk itself was worth taking , we got to see many historic buildings and read some of Asheville's history on the way to lunch.

The building is low key from the road , in fact , blink and you might miss it , as the signage is also low key.

We walked in , through a small retail area ,and into the main hall , and it's large !

There is a bar to the right as you enter , a small counter straight ahead where you can interact with a staff member , we got a charming server , who guided us to a table , explained the menu and the method of production , with great skill , turns out she had been a FOH manager previously , and that showed.

Our order taken , drinks arrived , and with the open kitchen , you can see the entire process of your meal from the start, to it arriving on your table.

After taking advice from our server , we chose the Mussels & the Pulled Pork , the mussels because the cook method was kinda unique , they are cooked in the BBQ with the Pork , the aroma's, and flavourings, from the smoke & steam cook them along with the Pork.

The meal arrived quite quickly , it's a fast paced kitchen , but without compromising quality. The aroma's from both dishes were almost intoxicating , so we proceeded to demolish them both.

The mussels were superb , the mingling of all the aroma's of the cook process with the mussels was sublime , an excellent concept and execution.

The Pulled Pork was fork tender , not overly smoky , but just enough , and the slaw with it an excellent compliment , no additional seasonings needed for either plate !

We were then introduced to one of the Chefs , who gave us a guided tour of the kitchen , given I'm a Chef , it's a privilege my wife & I truly appreciated , many thanks to him and our server for arranging that.

So , a long meadering walk , followed by a brilliant lunch with excellent beers , fantastic staff ,all followed by a Champagne Sorbet , wow !

This place was a great introduction to NC BBQ , and we'd highly recommend it to anyone !

Will we be back , you bet !
