Jim and Chris were the perfect hosts, filling every wish we could ask for. Breakfasts were wonderful and interesting. The accommodations were what we expected cozy and relaxing. Outdoors on the porches were a nice resting retreat. Leaving on our last day early before breakfast Jim made sure we had a nice bag of fruit, yogurt, nutritional bars and water for the road. Interesting note, this was the home of Charlton Heston as a young aspiring actor.

Very pretty place and nicely furnished room. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. All the other staff we met were also nice but Stephanie was the best. She was friendly, helpful and always smiling! The place was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was delicious.

There were only two minor negatives:

1) Breakfast was only served in one seating - 9:00am. It would have been nice if it were say between 9:00 and 10:00 and,

2) The price was a bit high compared to other areas and other similar accommodations.

Otherwise, we loved the place, the staff, the breakfasts and our cozy room. We would definitely recommend this place!

The innkeepers and the staff were great at their jobs and made a lot of effort to help me feel welcome. Food at breakfast was pretty amazing -- especially knowing that they cooked it themselves!

Short walk to downtown -- under 15 minutes. Couple of grocery stores very close (although the intersection to get to them is hard to get across on foot).

Nice old Queen Anne Victorian house. Lots of chairs on a big front porch for sitting. Wine in the evenings was appreciated.

I enjoyed my stay!

Room Tip: I stayed in the Haseltine Room -- note that the shower and toilet are in one shared space. The bathroom compartment has a shower door, located facing the room. After you go into the 'water closet' and close the shower door, it is hard to close the bigger wooden door (located outside of the shower door). The sink is not in the bathroom -- it is in a wash stand inside the room. I was traveling solo, so it was fine for me -- just left the wooden door open. But If I were sharing the room, I think the bathroom would have presented some coordination challenges.

This was a vacation of firsts: Ziplining, Off-road segway tour, the Biltmore, Spelunking, Train Ride into the Smokies, first vacation together as sisters, and our first stay in a B&B. The house is absolutely lovely, full of old world charm, and we were made to feel like family from the moment we arrived. Jim, Chris, Erica and Stephanie were all fabulous - from the first walk-around tour of the property, to the incredible breakfasts they served. Sadly, we're very early risers and planned our activities early, so missed most of the breakfasts. But Chris made sure we had a "breakfast to go" bagged for us every day. The Garden Room (our bedroom), was perfect for two - great view, claw foot tub, and (they've got to share the secret to those oh-so-soft bed sheets!) Any future vacations will include a B&B because of our fabulous first experience here. Thanks, guys. Hope to see you again (and be sure to have surprise visitors again, too)! Jan and Susan

We were curious about Asheville and its surrounding areas and booked Beaufort House on line. Arrived to a charming home, greeted warmly, quiet and tranquil gardens....all great. Chris and Jim and their staff were awesome, helpful, and went out of their way to make every breakfast delicious, make our visit special and fun aligning with our interests and now we can't wait to come back to further explore Asheville! We were on the 3rd floor Sarah Davidson Suite and the steps get you ready for walking around Asheville!! But it was our own getaway place in the inn and we loved it!! The Beaufort Inn is clean, well maintained and obviously loved but guests and innkeepers. Thanks so much for such a great relaxing and much needed getaway!
