“Nice Place but Pricey”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

Grove Park Inn is a beautiful venue with abundant history. The views are great and the atmosphere is very relaxing. However, I was very disappointed with the quality of our room. We paid in excess of $300 for a room that was no nicer than those found in any chain hotel. I understand we were paying a premium for the GPI experience but the room left much to be desired. We've stayed at the Inn at Biltmore on multiple occasions and comparably priced rooms are much nicer there. The food at Sunset Terrace was very good and our server was extremely helpful and friendly. However, she seemed to have been overbooked and consequently, we often felt overlooked. Overall, it was a nice stay but for the money I spent, I expected a little more.

Omni Hotel, Grove Park Inn, was excellent. The bed linens and towels were clean and fresh. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff kept it that way, visiting every day. Staff was very friendly. The ice cream in the Marketplace is soooo good!! Very upscale place to be. Be prepared to pay for the experience though. IT is worth it! I hope to go back again!

The Grove Park Inn has an beautiful and dramatic setting, perched on the side of Sunset Mountain. The wraparound terrace/decking/dining options provide incredible views of the valley. The hotel has some fun quirks like staffed elevators tucked behind massive fireplaces, but modern amenities have been blended in to the period decor and layout. The food and service were fantastic. The room was large and the bed very comfortable with first class linens. The bathroom was a little small and had a freestanding bathtub which was interesting but more than comfortable for showers. I will return to this hotel if I am ever in the area, if only to dine on the terrace or visit the spa which I did not have time for on this trip.

We chose the Grove Park Inn for it's prime location, history and aesthetic charm as an old stone resort nestled away from town. We were not disappointed. In fact the dinner on the terrace exceeded my expectations. Equally as enjoyable was the great panoramic view of the mountains that was reminiscent of Tuscany. Accommodations were quiet, clean and ideal for us we were traveling with our dogs. I would recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a pleasant get-away that just happens to be convenient to downtown Asheville.

I had not visited the Grove Park in a while. I had always enjoyed my trips there but the move to Omni has been a great one. They have kept the old charm but everything is spotless and in top shape. The staff could not be friendlier and the food is excellent. If you get a chance don't miss the evening entertainment in the main bar, there are 2 guitar players that give a bluesy show that is memorable.

Unbelievable place to stay. For couples or family I seriously doubt you can find a better place in the area. All staff are very friendly, and food and drink are second to none. Ray at the front desk was a great guy and can't say enough about him. So much to say but the final word is if you don't have the time of your life here, you really need to consider seeking some professional mental help!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with a mountain view. If you arrive and they are busy, show a little patience. The...

I wish we had not wasted our one day shopping in town, we should have just spent the entire day using the spa facilities, what an amazing place!!! We spent a few hours using the spa, and had a lovely meal at the Sunset Terrace. Our room was fabulous, we really cannot wait to return! The staff was nice, the spa was more than I could have imagined, 100% lovely.
