Description: The stunning first floor restaurant in Boston’s Liberty Hotel, Scampo, is a culinary destination created by legendary chef Lydia Shire and The Lyons Group in April of 2008. In Scampo, Shire’s reputation for defying tradition translates into Italian-inspired cuisine unrestrained by borders, drawing on flavors from the Mediterranean and Middle East. Scampo is a reflection of Chef Shire: bold, red and full of energy. The contemporary space features shiny copper lanterns, a glowing orange bar and seating overlooking the mozzarella bar.

WOW Best describes this wonderful restaurant. My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Scampo and we are so happy we did.
From the minute you walk in you are greeted by warm friendly staff.
ATMOSPHERE- Lively and vibrant
FOOD-Excellent from the appetizers to dessert. Some of the best flavors we have had in a long time.
STAFF-Our waiter Jeremy (along with Adam who was training was wonderful. He took the time to go over the menu, explaining preparations, portions, drink suggestions etc. He was "spot on" with everything he described.

We say Lydia Shire (chef/owner) go over to several tables. It is always nice when the owner takes the time to greet her customers. Our only regret is that she didn't come over to our table.

For a special occasion or wonderful dining experience dont' miss this one...

Kudo's to Lydia and her wonderful staff.

Everything was either very good or wonderful. Ate at Scampo at 5:30 on a Sunday night at the end of February 2010. The crab dish from the mozzarella bar was delicious. My very favorite dish was the brussel sprouts...could have eaten the whole plate by myself.
The quince, ginger, and pepper cocktail was delightful. Every recommendation made by the server was a winner. Overall a great experience.

We walked in off the street on a Sunday night and sat at the Mozzarella Bar to eat where we could see the chefs cooking. Our server was prompt and very friendly and efficient.I had the Black Pig which is a giant pork chop and it was delicious and tender. My husband had a bolognese and our daughter had the lobster bolognese of which I sampled each and they were outstanding. I would go back there in a heartbeat. Its in the Liberty Hotel buiding. Funky and fun decor.

Had dinner here while staying at the Liberty Hotel (which was also great). Decent by the glass wine list, Super Tuscan had was excellent. Ordered several dishes and shared between two of us. The highlight was the orechiette pasta with homemade sausages and broccoli rabe - delightful! The breads were nice, as was the pizza. Loved the fresh mozzarella appetizer, we had one with artchoke hearts but they all looked fabulous. Desert was nice too, a lemon creme pastry of some sort and half order of homemade cookies. Found the prices to be reasonable, we were more than satifsfied, from wine to desert for around $100 plus tip. The place is a bit loud and the waiter, while helpful, was a tad annoying at times, almost too attentive. Will definitely go back.
