“Great place to relax”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

What a beautiful park. My wife and I were riding rent a bikes around town and decided to stroll through. We walked our bikes in the gardens as riding is prohibited. The natural beauty, people watching and sights are all incredible. It is like a smaller Central Park. It is the perfect place to take in all the essence the City of Boston has to offer.

“Beautiful garden in the heart of Boston”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

This is a formal garden, opposed to the park-like Boston Common. There are many beautiful flowers and statues. At the entrance across from Newbury Street is an impressive statue of George Washington on his horse. The famous Make Way for Ducks statues are here. There is a pond you can ride swan boats in.

The garden is free, but there are no bathrooms. You could visit this before starting the Freedom trail in the Common. You could spend the morning starting at the Mass Ave end of Newbury Street, exploring that (detouring a block over for the library), visiting the garden, and the Common. Then you could do the freedom trail in the afternoon.

“Both Fun & Beautiful”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

The Boston Public Garden is filled with beautiful flower gardens and trees as well as the famous pond with the Swan boats. The boats are powered by "cycling" college students - and featured in "Make Way for Ducklings". Because of the connection with the children's book, the boats are often filled with families and children, but anyone traveling to Boston should consider taking a ride.

If you happen to visit around Mother's Day, they have a great parade for families that runs down Beacon Street to the Public Garden following the path that the ducks made in the book. It's great fun - especially for families with young children.

“Enjoyed our walk in the Garden”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

I enjoyed walking through the common and the public garden. The flower beds were very nice and beautiful. We walked around and just soaked up the nice weather and enjoyed the gardens and monuments. This was a nice stop before having lunch and going to see the Sox.
