“Free Park Ranger tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2014

We did the free Park Ranger-led tour. I had read that this was 90-minutes long, but ours was only 60 minutes. Also, we didn't cover much ground. We basically saw the Old State House from the outside, although our Ranger provided a lot of great, in-depth information in an animated manner.

Also, while waiting in the basement of the Faneuil Hall Visitor Center for the tour to start, it was not clear who to follow. A bunch of us followed a group up the stairs, only to find out that our tour was still waiting at the bottom. Some communication would be nice.

The Freedom Trail itself is excellent (5/5), but the Park Ranger-led tours are pretty minimal (3/5). I guess what do you expect with the no-cost option.

“Nice history lesson”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2014

This is a very nice doable walk. Many interesting things to see on the way. There are pamphlets that describe each stop along the way but don't try to get one at the beginning in the Boston Common visitor center. They just want to sell you a $7.00 book!

“You must do the Freedom Trail - either via foot or trolley”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2014

Boston has a wealth of history and the red Freedom Trail is the path that ties it all together. A must do with the family to really see and feel Boston.

“great way to see the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2014

the trail is a great and easy path to follow to see the sights around town. I'd reccomend getting a guide to really bring the history to life.
