“Enjoyable afternoon”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

We have visited this museum several times over our visits to Boston. This time we went to see the quilt exhibit. We spent a couple of hours thoroughly enjoying this exhibit and its staging in the downstairs gallery. We also spent time looking at other parts of the museum. We had a bite to eat at the cafe in the modern wing. The food was good and the tables and chairs comfortable. our only criticism we have of this museum is that the layout of the art is confusing. One may have to go to different floors and areas to see all of one genre of art.

“Free Admission this Memorial Day 5/26, Save $25 Admission Fee !!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

We are planning an all day visit here, on Memorial Day 5/26/2014 & saw that it is FREE OF ADMISSION CHARGES ALL DAY !!! That's $50 my husband & I will save & well worth the 90 minute drive there from New Hampshire. And the bonus....they have 3 different parking garages to choose, all of which have entrances on Museum Rd...but be forewarned as it is $28 (for non members of the Museum) for all day parking AND on Red Sox home game days, the ball park goers can also "pahk their cahs" here. Will ley y'all know after the visit just how fantastic this museum's exhibits are...cannot wait !

“Top Notch Art Collection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2014

Though admission is quite pricey, one can spend all day at this museum perusing it's wide variety of exhibits. The collection is amazing, particularly the colonial art. Watson and the Shark by John Singleton Copley is my favorite--make sure to check it out!

“unexpectedly good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

Boston continues to surprise me, this is now my 4th visit , and first to the Fine Arts Museum. The collection is huge, and the Museum confusing, but there are lots of guides to ask for directions. And to find the loos which are not plentiful. We enjoyed the Boston Impressionists with Monet, Degas, Renoir etc; the Color of quilts which contains some staggering old but perfect examples of hand craft, the Egyptian galleries with amazing mummies and other discoveries; the Rotunda with the marvelous Sargent frescos and murals, and the gallery devoted to his paintings . There is more and we skimmed some of it.
