“Cute chic hotel in Boston”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 October 2011

The hotel has a great location, right next to the Pru and Back Bay. It has a ton of charm- none of the rooms are the same shape since it's on a oddly shaped corner so that means that all of the rooms are different sized. (I asked to see a bunch of the rooms).

Loved the happy hour at the hotel and the staff was really nice and helpful. Hotel was really clean and again- great location.

There's the mini bar downstairs that can get kind of loud. We were on the 2nd floor right above the bar and you could definitely feel/hear the bass of the music when we were in the bathroom but if we closed the door , you couldn't hear the music anymore.

Excellent place to stay in Boston. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We requested an early check in and our room was ready when we got there. They helped with dinner reservations and had a Wine tasting hour in the evening and coffee in the morning. The room was comfortable and well decorated. Within walking distant to the subway and the popular trolley tour stops. Overall a very pleasant stay in a great city!

Very attractive modern styled hotel. The rooms are small but very attractive. Bathrooms are good sized. The hotel was very clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. This hotel is very convenient to shopping and restaurants on Boylston St. and Newberry St. They are both only a short block or so away. We also walked to Quincy Market, Long Shore area. It is quite a walk but can be done. The hotel mini-bar was quite enjoyable. They have specialty drinks and wine. It is overlooking the street and has outdoor seating in nice weather.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper, I would suggest asking for a room not facing Exeter St. We did have a r...

Would have given a 5 start rating for service, decor, and location - except that the kitchen seems to have some problems. Not with food - it's great. But room service was 45 minutes past the pre-arranged breakfast time and came without milk for an order of cereal! Lobby breakfast area was also understaffed and very slow. Very convenient to public transportation and staff very helpful. Free wine in the afternoon always merits a few extra points.

Room Tip: King rooms are larger than doubles.

Great little historical hotel located in the heart of Back Bay. Recently renovated while maintaining old world charm.

We stayed here with our baby in September. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The lobby is decorated in a contemporary style and felt cozy. We didn't eat at the restaurant or bar with all of the food options nearby so I can't comment on the dining in the hotel.

The room was tiny which I guess is expected when you're in the heart of the city. The room was clean and the decor was obviously recently updated. The bathroom was ok, the tub was really old which I thought was odd when everything else was updated. Not the best shower either. The bed was comfy. And we didn't have any issues with noise from outside.

Overall, I think this was a good option for the price we got it for using Priceline to name my price. The location is what makes this hotel really good as well as the boutique feel. The hotel is really close to shopping, restaurants, etc.

We actually stayed at the Fairmont Battery Wharf for a night after our stay here and I think I would choose the Fairmont over this hotel especially since I got it for almost the same price with a special friends and family discount.

The hotel was definitely more on the trendy boutique side which I loved. Other reviews claimed the rooms were too small which may be the case with the standard ones. We ended up upgrading when we got there to a king room and it was plenty of space for two as was the bathroom. They kept things very clean. It was also a good location for restaurants and walking to the sites of Boston. The bed was super comfy too. We were originally planning to stay at the Fairmont across the street but changed our minds due to a rumored mice issue. So glad we changed! Wine down hour was a nice touch as well.

Great location, great service and enjoyed the newly renovated hotel with it's feel to history. Really enjoyed the free wine between 5-6pm. Room was decent to accommodate family with two young children. The hotel had personality and intimacy being of smaller stature to the bigger ones across the road. Also had free Internet which was a plus.
