Stayed here when visiting our Daughter at College. On the River, great views- easy walk across Bridge to everything. Beautiful rooms and very comfortable beds.
Loved the fact that it was reasonable with out being outside the city.
Hilton properties are always fantastic!

Room Tip: Choose a room high up overlooking the river

We stayed here one night when we were exploring Boston. I thought the location was very convenient; it is right off the main road and we were able to walk to the subway (took 10 minutes or so). The staff was helpful in giving directions and the concierge went out of his way to help us after we'd checked out and needed back into our room to get my husband's jacket. The hotel seemed a little dead but that was fine by us!

We have stayed at the Doubletree Suites on Soldiers Field a number of times and again had a very good stay, for four days at the end of October. As Diamond members, we were upgraded to a two-level suite on the 16th floor, which had an amazing view of the Charles and parts of Cambridge and Boston.

The king bed in the loft part of the suite was very comfortable, and I loved the television built into the main bathroom mirror. Now that's cool!

Our stay happened to coincide with Hurricane Sandy, and we had no problems. In fact, we spent part of the day that Sandy struck in comfort in our suite, playing bridge and watching the rain come down (and sometimes up).

Further on the plus side, the shuttles to Harvard Square and elsewhere are convenient. Breakfast (the continental buffet, usually around $16, is comped for Gold and Diamond members) was very good.

I do think the parking charge of $35 a day is a little steep -- that adds up to $1050 for a month. I understand that parking in Boston is expensive, but this hotel isn't in Cambridge or downtown Boston -- it's literally at the end of the Mass Pike.

With the various hotel taxes and parking, we paid around $300 a day. Again, that's not terrible given the high hotel prices in Boston, but it's hardly a bargain.

Room Tip: Get a suite on the top (16th) floor if possible. Great views!

We attend the Head of the Charles event on October 20th and decided to stop in after for a drink and a bite. When we arrived at the crowed Terrace Lounge there was no staff. We waited about 10 minutes when we spotted the assistant manage, Ozzi, whom we spoke to about the service. He stated there was nothing he could do but to tell us to wait and that somone would be there to wait in us. Finally the waiter arrived who took our order and acted as the bartender to make our drinks. We had 2 martini which he made wrong as he used sweet and sour mix. Ozzi was informed again and maintained the same attitude. I contacted the hotel manager via email and never received a response

Good service from staff. Excellent breakfast Buffet. Great views of the river and Cambridge. Nice indoor pool for children. Has a shuttle service the takes you to Harvard Square, Copley Square, and downtown Boston. One down side is the way the hotel is configured. It get very noisy at night especially on weekends when conferences are going on or if the band is playing.

I checked into the hotel late after a stressful work day and was told that I would be receiving a room with twin beds. I asked if any other rooms were available and was told that only twin bed rooms were available. I presented my credit card for incidentals and was asked for picture ID to proof who I was. The reservations matched the credit card and others checking in were not asked. When I got to the room it was spacious and the twin bed was not horrible but the venting/air conditioning unit in room 714 woke me up every two hours. That room should not be offered to any guest with that loud noise. I personally think the desk staff was unprofessional and the hotel should never make a room with such a loud unit operational. I won't be back!!

Room Tip: Do not get room 714. Make sure that you don't get a room with a large venting/air conditioning...

Stayed in a two room King suite which was very large in size. The hotel was clean and the staff were very friendly. I needed a corkscrew and wine glasses. With one quick phone call later, the serviceman was up to the room in minutes. The decor in the room is a bit dated but the whole place was fully functional. The business center is very useful with free printing. They have a quick click system by which one could easily get onto the airline website of choice so you could print your boarding passes. The room had a lovely view of the river as well. The location isn't the greatest as it is a distance to Back Bay or Beacon hill, for example.

Cab fare (near rush hour) to airport is $30 + tip; to Back Bay $12 + tip. It's about a mile walk to the nearest subway station.
