We appreciate your review and are happy to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay at The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Boston- Cambridge! It is great that our location was so convenient for you and that you were able to get to Harvard Square and on/off the Mass Pike with such ease. We hope to see you again!
Clean, quiet, nice just not easily accessible without a car. The hotel and staff was great! Breakfast was very good but if you want hot items you have to pay an additional $6 per person for it. The shuttle only goes to one location hourly and taxi is very expensive.
Thank you for your review – we appreciate your comments and feedback in regards to your recent stay at The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Boston- Cambridge. Happy to hear that you had a great stay and that you were able to take advantage of the shuttle and breakfast in The Green Room. We hope to see you again should you be traveling to the Boston/Cambridge area again soon!
I stayed here for the 2014 Boston Marathon. I'm indifferent. I had to purchase a suite at $430 a night because nothing else was available. The suite was nothing to speak of. Perhaps I'm a hotel snob & partial to Kimpton haha but pretty sure ripped sheets and and a 24 in TV doesn't not qualify as "suite". The front desk was very friendly, I will give them that. Also surprised room service ends by 10 pm. Everyone speaks of these renovations? Idk my hotel room feels more like a motel from 1995. I just expected more for my money.
We are so displeased to hear you were not 100% satisfied with your recent trip to The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Boston- Cambridge. It is unfortunate that our suites were not up to your expectations and that you felt they were outdated. We are pleased, however, to hear that our team was friendly. Our recent renovations included our lobby space and room renovations are coming soon. We hope that you would give us a second chance once these room renovations are complete to prove that we can meet your expectations!
An above average hilton property.
Pros: close to Boston and surrounds; restaurant is excellent; friendly staff; nice views of Boston and the river; good noise insulation from the street.
Cons: the doors don't have a damper on them which means doors are slamming shut all night.
I would stay at this hotel again.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear the positive comments on your recent stay at The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Boston- Cambridge and that you would stay here again. We look forward to your return!
It had room for my 2 sons and I to sleep in separate beds. Room was clean. The staff was friendly. They had WI FI in the rooms and computers in the lobby for your use. The cabs were easy to access right out the front door. There was no breakfast included and we had to pay for parking.
Thank you for the review on your recent stay at The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Boston- Cambridge. Glad to hear that our 2 room suites were accommodating for you and your 2 sons and that you were able to take advantage of the WiFi and computers in the lobby.
I've stayed at this hotel at least eight times, and enjoyed it every time. I travel solo, and "position" at this hotel before train and plane trips.
The hotel had been renovated since my last stay. i'm not an expert on interior design, but the impression was of sharp, modern, sparkling, "space age" combinations of metal, fabrics, colors, and shapes like I've never seen before at a hotel. Other than the location of the main staircase, nothing was recognizable from the former layout in the lobby. There is a big fireplace, plenty of seating, shelves with books - much like a country home, but for the age we live in today. There is a bright but small "pantry" off the lobby for those who want something to snack on during their stay. Check the hotel website for a full list of amenities, as there are plenty of them.
Even nicer were staff members who had big smiles, were genuinely welcoming, and did everytiing possible to make me feel like I was the most important person at the hotel. My requested room was not ready when I arrived much earlier than anticipated, and the staff literally ran to safely store my luggage so my driver would not need to wait long for me. Calls were made from the concierge to housekeeping to see if they could possibly expedite my check-in after I returned from a meeting.
My upper floor king room had a great view of the frozen Charles River. All the usual Doubletree amenities were in the bathroom, bedroom and living room. There was a nice microwave and refrigerator next to the wet bar area. Very comfortable bed with good linens.
The hotel was very quiet - did not hear any noise during the night and slept very well. Everything in the room appeared clean and modern, and I assumed it had been renovated along with the lobby area, but was told later that it's on the schedule very soon.
The bar area a level above the lobby has the same very cordial and cheerful staff I remember from previous stays. The Boston-style clam chowder was marvelous on a freezing evening. The food was so good I somehow found room to just keeping eating more.
For those requiring taxi service, there always seemed to be several ready to go along the entrance way area.
Check-out was as friendly as the check-in, and very quick.
This hotel is a less expensive alternative to downtown Boston, in a more peaceful setting, if such a thing exists in metropolitan Boston. I would definitely and gladly stay here again, and look forward to it.
